There isn't an A level fighter at heavyweight at all right now. Let alone Ortiz.

Still, Joshua is a pretty good fighter with a lot of talent.

I wouldn't class a boxer as A level unless he fights and beats the best opposition available. By that measure Ortiz can't be considered a level. His resume was poor. I agree with motofan:

If Joshua beats Parker and having beaten Wlad he has a decent claim to a level status. Likewise if wilder beats the winner.

Going into the Wilder fight, I believed Ortiz was a “B” level fighter. I’d say he essentially proved that. He was just never the best; but with the current state of the division, he had a chance. Wilder’s power and heart won him the fight. On a different night, it could’ve been Luis who was victorious. He remains dangerous to anyone...until Father Time claims him, that is.

Yeah he’s a good fighter- dynamic, explosive etc. he’s just not technically good.

Was prime Foreman technically good? It is universally recognized that Foreman was A-level.

He was much technically better than AJ. C’mon man.
I’m not saying you have to be technically good to be an A-Level fighter for example, Henry Armstrong wasn’t technically great but his resume and accolades proved he was at the highest level.
AJ simply isn’t at that level in terms of ability, resume and accolades yet.
