Ortiz was considered by many to be the Boogeyman man of the division. He is a skilled south paw with good counter punching ability and pretty good defense but he doesn't really do anything at the elite level. There were many people picking him to beat Wilder but looking at his past few fights before Wilder it was clear as day that he was tailor made for Wilder. He was old, slow, reflexes were kind of shot, and he didn't push the pace and cut off the ring against Wilder like he was supposed too. Even looking back at his past fights, when he was younger, nothing screams "elite or A-level" When I think of A-level fighters I think of guys like Brook, Thurman, Spence, Crawford, Danny, Mikey, Loma, Rigo, Usyk, Jacobs, Lara, GGG, Wilder, Joshua, Fury, and Canelo. I don't think Ortiz is on the level as those guys I mentioned. He is basically on the level of a Felix Diaz or Lamont Peterson. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Was Ortiz an A-level fighter or a B-level fighter

Of course he's B level. He wouldn't be top 100 p4p, lost 5 times to solis, his best win is Bryant jennings and he is 38 at the very youngest. Can wilder fans please stop making out he just beat prime Lennox Lewis or some ****. It was a solid win but nowhere near what it's being made out to be.Comment

He's not an A level fighter. I thought he looked pretty damn good 3 years ago but then started looking his age, was convicted of PED use that may have been the reason he looked elite for a time. If he was truly an A level fighter at some point in this era of 4 belts and one of the weakest era's in heavyweight history and one of the poorest divisions currently he'd have at least won a title if he was in the A level bracket.
He's a solid old guy.Comment

In the Heavyweight Division? He was clearly the 3rd best active fighter in the division. That makes him about B+ A- for that division.Comment

Ortiz is not in the group of the elite in the sport. He is a B level fighter that beat a lot of lower level opponents. He definitely was the boogeyman on the division because he has skill and power.Comment

Well what is ELITE to you ?
You think Wilder defeats M. Tyson.
Ortiz is arguably the most dangerous southpaw to ever box at HW _
Wilder was on the verge to getting stopped in the 7th , surely you have to give your definition of ELITE bc how you come across doesn't add up .
No offence but im still not sure this is still a serious poster on here ?
