Pacquiao's political party is an ally to the current government, unlike the previous one. His tax issues have all been settled by his attorneys. You can't run for a government position with tax issues, anyways. Otherwise, it will run counter to whatever you promise during campaign seasons. In other words, you won't get elected.

Arum also said Pac is looking to fight in Asia instead, so Dan might be right.
His political opponents want it both ways LOL. Its moot at this point since Duterte has came out and stated that he wants Pac to run when his term is up and officially endorsed it.
