i dont agree at all, it was a little more then that in my eyes not to mention it has nothing to do with the fight, wilder had no cut or anything going on for them to call on the doctor. only explanation would be lets give Wilder more time to recover. (I'm sure Wilder didn't even know what was happening and he would of been happy like all other fighters that receive a gift decision if it would of hit the score cards). I'm glad wilder was able to come back and KO Ortiz just to make the fight right and not have a gift decision on his record.

On the other hand to say the fight wasn't stacked against Ortiz is a little on the underside. The cards read Wilder as being up? how is he up when he didnt do anything other than the 5th round is beyond me.

THIS IS THE RULE IN NEW YORK NOW. Have you not seen a fight from New York the last few months? It happens all the time now.

You got any other examples we could take a look at? I'm genuinely interested and would be interested to see other examples. It seems a bit ass-backwards that they don't do it during the 1 minute recess between rounds. They're just asking for controversy with rules like that, even if it was only 10 seconds or so of extra recovery time.

Wilder certainly passed the gut check didn’t he? How he stayed up in the 7th amazed me and there isn’t any doubt it was a great win.

That being said Wilder is a strange boxer, he looks awful at times but punches so damn hard he is always really dangerous.

Roll on Wilder vs AJ. Should be a great slug out!

Have you got anything that was just a pupillary examination as a result of concussion? Because that's something that I personally haven't seen before.

I don't think it affected the outcome of the fight, but it's interesting ****.

Wilder man, i just don't know what to think about the guy. He's rubbish, yet i'm struggling to think of anyone who could beat him. Joshua isn't anything special, i can see Wilder windmilling him the *** out. A prime Fury would've beaten him no doubt, and i think Wladimir could come out of retirement and comfortably outbox him. But current fighters?

This fight shows that Wilder can sustain some punishment and rally. It also shows that a fighter with skill like Ortiz can get to him. Add will to that skill and put in a younger fighter like AJ and it will be very interesting. Either way props to Wilder for holding up and finishing a talented fighter like Ortiz.

Watch it again. They're both being examined.

Ortiz still has a lot to offer.
I want to see him back against the Loser of Joshua vs Parker.
Or even better if he was Fury’s first fight back. He needs to immediately jump back into the fire to earn one last shot at the title.
