Will Wilder Win You Over if He Wins BIG Saturday Night?

Yeah, initially, I thought he'd have no shot, but I don't know. As technically good as he is, if he kept them close and didn't get too aggressive like he has at times at cruiser, he'd have more of a chance than people think. Gassiev could compete too I think, but at 24, he need not be in any hurry. I can see them as possible champions at some point, although I'd like to see them stay at cruiser for a few years. Either way, I think both are more skilled than Wilder or AJ.Comment

If he knocks him out then sure but I don't see him doing that. If you discount the Stiverne II blowout then we have little to go on that Wilder knocks him out. Stiverne had no right to be in that ring, even less right than the fringe men Wilder has feasted on since 2015 who have given him some trouble.Comment

Boxrec rankings seem to be the most popular here. So let's say Wilder is the #3 heavyweight in the world and Ortiz is #4 (in my personal rankings, Wilder is #2 and Ortiz is #3).
That is a great win no matter how you slice it.
The problem with Rigo isn't the age, the problem is him moving up TWO weight classes.
If Wilder was fighting Kovalev tomorrow and knocked him out, the issue wouldn't be Kovalev's age. The issue would be that he was moving up two weight classes to take the fight.Comment
