That is a great win no matter how you slice it.

The problem with Rigo isn't the age, the problem is him moving up TWO weight classes.

If Wilder was fighting Kovalev tomorrow and knocked him out, the issue wouldn't be Kovalev's age. The issue would be that he was moving up two weight classes to take the fight.
Boxrec? Since when? Show me a few posts that show that Boxrec is popular here

You’ll find the most popular rankings are the RING and TBRB.

Wilder no.2 vs Ortiz no.4/5. I’ll ignore the fact TBRB don’t currently rank Ortiz due to inactivity

Solid fight, certainly enough to keep up with Joshua no.1 vs Parker no.3

I could never really be a fan because of his lack of world level skill, his boxing skills are probably below journeyman level. If he beats Ortiz in convincing fashion I will definitely credit him fully and it would legitimise his title reign in my eyes.

Honestly if Wilder had decent technique and skills this would be an easy fight for him with his speed, power, height and length. I still think Ortiz should get a difficult W due to being far more skilled and talented as a boxer. We’ll see.

If Ortiz survives Wilder's blitzkrieg attack then it will be a long night for Deontae.
That's what I'm looking for first and foremost in this fight.
Bear in mind that Ortiz never had any opponent of this type.

Congratulations to Wilder, he weathered the onslaught in the middle rounds after being outboxed early and persevered to stop Ortiz. Showed a lot of heart and guts tonight and (although he was pretty much out on his feet) was also able to show that he could withstand the power punches from Ortiz. Very impressed with Wilder's resilience. We have a potential enormous HW fight brewing, but I think it still needs a little more time to get the casuals ready for it. First and foremost, Joshua has to take care of business against Parker. But that's for another night, props to Wilder for his W tonight
