So he went pro at 130?

And when he was in amateur tournaments, which we have on video, and looked like a young man in his 20s, he was actually 125 years old?

      Agree with this.

If he does win without any controversy, I will start to warm up to Wilder.

Beating Ortiz won't change anyone's mind. Wilder has garnered a certain level of disdain that doesn't happen often. Some people will never be satisfied with anything he does. The last person we saw that kind of thinking with was Mayweather (and maybe Ward but he wasn't as abrasive.) He has a long way to go to get the Mayweather treatment. He does talk a lot but it's entertaining if you look at it as just entertainment. If you take everything he says to heart then you might have a problem with him bragging and talking crazy.

I think most fans have their minds made up. Wilder fans will celebrate a win over 38 year old Ortiz like he just beat a prime Lennox Lewis. Meanwhile, those same fans shyt all over Loma's win over Rigo because Rigo was 37 and the smaller man.

Truth is, this is the weakest HW division in the sport's history. It will be difficult to rank Wilder as a potential great because there is no Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, to test him.

I will make a prediction. If Wilder should beat Ortiz, AJ, Parker etc and somehow go 51-0 or better, you will see a lot of his "fans" jump off the bandwagon to defend Floyd's 50-0. Suddenly they will talk about how Wilder didn't beat anyone and he was a hype job. Mark my words.

If he continues to fight top contenders like Ortiz instead of some of the cherry picks he has defended his title against that would be a good thing.
the absolute worst thing for a warrior would be for his enemy to not respect him after battle. I said back many posts ago that whoever taught him respect did it improperly, hopefully Ortiz dusts his 215lb ass. One of the reasons I'm a fan of Floyd Mayweather is that say what you will - all his opponents respect him after the fact. Maybe not Victor Ortiz as much as others, but...

I like how Wilder fights, but the motherfkr has no respect, deeboing interviews, I don't like him. and his lol BOMMBBB SQUAADDDD battle cry? I think it's dumb...trying to be like his dad Briggs

Absolutely. Wilder is 39-0 and not one HOF level fighter on his resume. Even AJ is nothing special in terms of overall boxing skill. These two are big and strong and have limited skill but enough to look dominant in a very shallow talent pool.

Do you think Usyk could do anything with either of them if he moved up? Or Gassiev?
