Clottey gained 23 pounds overnight when he fought Corrales. He made the 147 limit and was 170 on fight night. Word is he ate half a zebra for breakfast.

Rumors are that Jacobs was 184 on fight night against Golovkin, which would've been a 24 pound weight gain but I don't think that was confirmed.

I would say both Canelo and Jacobs came in at 180 or better. Gatti, Pazienza, Mikey, Crawford, have all been known to pack on considerable weight post weigh in. Crawford walks around 177+ and Mikey around 165+. Floyd looked like an easy 160+ vs. Marquez, Pac and a few others.

It was reported that, in one of his fights against Calderon, Segura went from 108lbs to 130lbs. That would be, not only the biggest gain I can remember hearing of but quite incredible when you consider it as a percentage of his bodyweight.

The reports were BS. Canelo has never weighed more than the low 170s on fight night. He has no mysterious weight gaining powers. Weighing in 32 hours before the fight instead of 8 hours before the fight was a ****** bad rule change but boxing is stuck with it. Blame the bad rule. Don't blame the boxers who follow the rule. If Canelo gained 25 pounds in 32 hours he would be one waterlogged SOB. He would not have his thin waist. It would do him much harm and no good. No such gigantic weight gain ever happened. Canelo is a well conditioned pro who might gain 15 pounds from weigh in to fight time just as many other boxers do.
