Why would he tell them to go to hell, if this is exactly what he wants. His reaction to this will tell it all. When has it ever been logical for a fighter to be ok with back to back rematches of fights the public is NOT demanding. Thurman is in on this. Anything to push back the Spence fight and make some checks before losing all his titles.

I hope not man. It's time for him to move onto greener pastures. The boxing public is demanding a Keith Thurman vs an Errol Spence unification bout. Now as far as Porter and Garcia is concerned; He's been there and done that. However, I think you are right. He probably would rather face those two in a rematch rather than challenge Errol Spence for his IBF title in the near immediate future. My fear and guess is that it is nothing more than he would rather do than to postpone and push back that fight for as long as possible.

It is crazy how they are all avoiding Spence. Still, a lot of it is Spence's fault. He has fought once since taking the belt from Brook. He knows he is going to have to fight Ocampo and Ugas. Why the f is he not fighting until June??? He should knock Ocampo out this weekend and Ugas a month later. And Alexander a month after that, and then two months later fight DSG. And call out Thurman after every fight. That's how you get people knowing you, wanting to watch you fight. When you fight once or twice a year and only a good opponent every two or three years, then only us diehards know who they are.

Honestly, why June? Does Spence need six months to get ready for Ocampo? Does it take six months to promote the fight? Screw dates, throw him on FS1. Spence is just wasting time in the prime of his career. When he is an absolute killer.

Did you ever think that Spence wants to take some time off and enjoy it with his family. Maybe take a vacation somewhere since he was training during the holidays and didn't get to enjoy them like a normal person. Boxing isn't baseball, basketball or football where you have a set season and players get a few months off a certain time of the year.

This isn't fair by the WBC. Why must Thurman fight them back to back? Why did the WBC betray themselves when they originally ordered a mandatory elimination bout between Porter and Garcia in the first place?

They should stick to their original plan and allow for the winner of a potential Garcia/Porter bout to face Thurman and then perhaps Keith could challenge Errol Spence Jr. By the end of next year.

Keith ain't facing Spence by the end of the year. He already said he doesn't plan on facing any top 5 fighter this year unless he's mandated. Thurman be acting like he's Floyd when he hasn't even accomplished a quarter of what Floyd did when he started calling the shots. Plus this is what happens when you sit out a year and don't defend the title, sanctioning bodies will stick you with back to back mandatory.

It would make more sense for garcia and porter to fight each other for a single mandatory.. but how did garcia and porter become mandatories in the first place? What have the done since losing to thurman? And most importantly, how did thurman know this scenario against porter and garcia was gonna happen waaaayyyy last year, when first asked about his come back, and if/whenhe will face spence?

There should only be 1 mando at a time for a belt holder. Forcing him to fight 2 mandatories back-to-back is ridiculous. Porter vs Garcia make it happen winner gets Thurman

Porter became the mandatory challenger after knocking out Andre Berto in the first half of 2017, and then solidified that position by winning a decision over Adrian Granados in the fall.

Garcia also won a final eliminator, as previously noted, by knocking out Brandon Rios last Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Why dont they just do porter vs garcia winner fights thurman next and thurman can defend at least one mando of the WBA belt in the mean time

Man I hate the WBC, this is beyond ridiculous. Two fighters whom Thurman beat are now mandatory after both having beat nobody of note. This is pathetic as heck. Garcia and Porter should be fighting each other to determine who the real mandatory is. Not this bullcrap.
