Doesn’t sound like he’s seen much of Mayweather. Mayweather stays in the pocket and hits back too. He was just better at not getting hit while Toney was better at hitting.

Hopkins was still developing in '93 when he fought Jones. Let's remember though, only 18 months later, Jones then fought Toney, and if anything, he dealt with Toney easier than Hopkins. And that was prime undefeated Toney.

Toney may have beaten Hopkins in early or mid 90's though.

I think that Hopkins continued to improve, and once we had the late 90's and afterwards version of Hopkins, I think that would be too close to call.

Toney was great, but he could switch off in fights, even in his prime.

I Definitely don't think Toney was in a different league to that Hopkins, even though he may have been more entertaining with his skills.

Shame we never saw that one, but to be fair Toney moved up to 175 in late '94. Hopkins was at 160 until 2005.

James would of K.O.'d lil g & Pavlik but not B-Hop. That would of been a good fight.

I agree with the Pavlik results. Not too sure with stopping GGG. I Def think he's not stopping b hop.
