Mandatories are rarely enforced if the mandatory doesn't ask for them to be enforced. In fact, Linares specifically asked for it not to be ordered so he could fight multiple fights for the WBA title. This entire situation was going on before Mikey was even the champion. How can you blame Mikey for Linares not getting his title shot when Linares was refusing the title shot before Mikey was even the champion?

No shyt Linares asked them not to order him to fight Dejan years ago. And unlike the rest of the nonsense you post we have proof of this. Nobody is arguing the sanctity of the WBC and who they make mandatory. He wanted to prove he was the man at 135 they wanted him to fight a nobody Dejan. 99% of fans wanted to see him fight Crolla in a unification fight for more money and significance. Just like nobody really blamed Mikey for delaying the Linares fight when he fought Broner. The problem is when he turns down the Linares fight TWICE to go on and fight Lipnets a fight nobody wanted, he's a paper champ and it holds little significance. The only reason folks care about this is because fans want to see this fight this ain't about the belt Linares don't care about a WBC title shot or if they give him back the WBC regular belt or keep him as the WBC Diamond belt. lol He wants Mikey to fight him or shut the phuk up. What good is Linares getting Mikey stripped when he is already the true champ recognized by everybody. Mikey is the one that has to prove he's more then a paper champ at 135 he won the WBC secondary belt and has fought only once at 135 his entire career and 3 of his last 4 fights have been at 140 and he's talking about moving up to 147 all while he has TWICE prevented a fight with Linares and turned down a contract to fight Linares let you still go on with this ****** argument that Linares is the one ducking this fight. Not the one who turned down 2 contracts to fight and TWICE formally requested that the WBC do not enforce him to fight Linares.

Sulaiman wants to clear the up the big debate at 135-pounds - who is the real WBC lightweight champion?

The beltholder was Jorge Linares of Venezuela. He was made the WBC "champion in recess" after suffering a bad hand injury which made him unavailable to make a mandatory defense against Dejan, who eventually captured the vacant championship.

Linares, who now holds the WBA world title and the WBC Diamond title at 135, faces Anthony Crolla in a rematch on March 25 in Manchester. The first fight was close and had good action, but Linares was the better man.

Provided Linares wins the rematch, Sulaiman will look to have him face Garcia to set a single WBC champion at 135.

"That is the fight that must happen, Linares with Mikey, so that there is only one champion," Sulaiman said.

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman has revealed that WBC lightweight world champion Mikey Garcia requested permission to fight Adrien Broner on July 29th, before an eventual showdown with mandatory challenger Jorge Linares .

Linares, who holds the WBA championship at 135, is also the WBC's Diamond champion at the weight. Because he is a "champion in recess" and never actually lost the title, the sanctioning body is going to order a fight between him and Garcia.

Garcia has already stated that after the contest with Broner he intends to return to the lightweight division to face Linares.

As BoxingScene.com recently reported, Linares is likely going to return to the ring on September 23. The opponent and the location is unknown, but Golden Boy Promotions has ruled out the rumored candidate, Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell.

"Mikey Garcia will meet with Broner in a super lightweight fight. We have a request from his promoters... [for that contest] and [Garcia] confirmed to me that his plan is to return to lightweight and make the fight with Linares," Sulaiman said to ESPN Deportes.

At their ongoing convention in Baku, the World Boxing Council has ordered a mandatory fight between WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) and WBC Diamond lightweight champion Jorge Linares (43-3, 27 KOs).

Golden Boy and Mikey were in negotiations and he twice turned down contracts to fight Linares. The final contract had no future offers just a 1 off fight and allowed Mikey to shop for the the best network deal and even fight on Showtime. After turning down the deal Mikey for the SECOND time put in formal request to the WBC to get permission to again not defend his title, not fight his mandatory and again fight at 140 NOT 135.

In January, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman told Boxing Scene: “Champion Mikey Garcia received special permission to fight over the weight in February in a WBC special event. WBC diamond champion Jorge Linares will defend his championship in January.”[/B]

FACT Mikey is the one mandated to fight Linares over a year ago and the mandatory existed the year before to the winner of Dejan/Mikey to fight Linares.
FACT Mikey has turned down contracts for this fight
FACT Mikey has requested multiple times to delay the WBC from enforcing he fight Linares or be stripped
FACT Mikey hasn't once defended his belt or even fought at 135 in over a year.

NOTHING you've posted says that Mikey requested that the mandatory not be enforced. What he requested was to fight in another weight class since his mandatory continued to take other fights. Something his mandatory had been doing long before he was the champion.

Linares could have snapped his fingers at any point in the last two years and requested a purse bid. He hasn't done that. He hasn't done that, because he's wanted to take other fights instead.

There's no conspiracy. Everything I claimed is easily verifiable public information. What Nielsen does and doesn't count isn't a secret. Showtime airing their fights in so many ways that aren't counted isn't a secret. HBO blocking their fights from airing in similar ways isn't a secret. Clearly HBO is trying to protect the Nielsen number while clearly SHO doesn't care.

NOBODY has reported this and the WBC haven't stated it. If there was a report or quote from the WBC stating this your clown azzz would of posted it by now after about 5 times asking you for but instead we are just supposed to take your word for it? Matter fact Linares got stripped because of a injury yet Mikey hasn't been stripped when he hasn't defended his belt for a much longer. Hell if does fight again this summer that would 18months before a defense with no injury to speak of. So HBO intentionally does not want you to stream and won't let you (his first lie) once folks one by one tell you they streamed the HBO fight live he changes his argument and now it's a conspiracy from HBO to boost their Nielson ratings? Dumb azzz HBO, Showtime, ect are premium cable they don't rely on ratings because unlike other channels that have advertisement and other sources of income that is tied to and fueled by ratings figures HBO/Showtime is subscription based. These numbers are more for them internally to decide which programming folks respond to more but as long as folks renew their subscription they could give a phuk. And why go through this conspiracy when boxing audience makes up a tiny fraction of HBO and Showtimes business and bottom line? It's not a conspiracy. It's easily verifiable publicly available information. We know which services and methods Nielsen does and doesn't count. We know that if Nielsen counts a service/method, HBO allows their fights to be shown live. If Nielsen doesn't count a service/method, HBO doesn't allow their fights to be shown live.

On the other hand, Showtime allows their fights to be shown live regardless of whether Nielsen will count it.

This is not opinion. This is fact. There's no conspiracy. HBO and Showtime are free to choose to show their fights however they wish. Clearly Showtime makes no effort to protect the Nielsen number. HBO goes to great lengths to protect the Nielsen number.

The posters who claimed to watch the fights live simply proved my point because in every instance they admitted they watched on a service that is counted by Nielsen.
