I bet Gassiev would be a no. Gassiev would brutalize the cheating diva SOB Ward.

See a lot of folks trashing Bellew. If he were to beat the Usyk-Gassiev winner, would he then be an acceptable opponent for Ward?

I called this months ago. Bellew specifically.

I knew all this bull**** talk was for Bellew or someone at a similar level. Pretty much the same as fighting Joshua right? What a joke.

I never read anywhere on here, outside of my posts, suggesting that Kovalev fight Joshua or any other heavyweight. I even suggested that Kovalev try and fight one of the Russian cruiserweight beltholders instead of fighting Chilemba. That fight was in Russia and it could have been an event. And his fans thought it was the worst idea ever. So why does Ward have to fight heavyweights, when his predecessor as light heavyweight champion wasn’t expected to. Even though Kovalev is naturally bigger than Ward?

shocker, Ward pulls the "retirement" card so he won't get tested, only to come back a year later at a higher weight class.

            Not su****ious at all...

I don’t care who Ward fights next if he ever comes back, he better go to europe and get his L it is long time overdue. Ward will get disqualified for the crap he is used to do in his own back yard. usyk, gassiev or bellew he will get his L.

Superman KO'd this bum and has caught heat about it ever since. But Ward refuses to even mention Superman and instead retires hoping he can make some money on this tomato can Bellew at some point in the future.

There is no way to bash Superman for his opponents and then turn around and say the same guys are worthy of a fight with Ward. Unless its for a hw title, Ward should prove he is the best at 175. This hyping up Bellew is causing Ward to lose a lot of respect.
I'm not a big fan of Ward. In fact, he is probably my least favourite fighter ever. But you are being unfair on him here.

Stevenson fought Bellew at 175lbs. Ward is talking about fighting him at 200lbs.

Bellew at 200lbs is a hell of a lot harder to beat than the weight drained, 175lb version who got KTFO by Stevenson.

that's true about kovalev, no matter how we all saw the fights, and whether or not those were low blows in the 2nd match (which even still, kov should've done more to win) - ward's legacy will be written in the history books

vs bellew tho? ehh.. i dont know how he'd go tbh coz im not so impressed by bellew in the first place, couldnt even properly ko a disabled past-prime david haye.. but if ward were to win it then ward is considered as the real 'S.O.G.' in the history books (even if it is just a bs fight anyway)

I'm going to repeat what I just said in a previous comment - Bellew at 200lbs is a far better fighter and much harder to beat than he was when struggling to make weight at 175.
