Boxers say **** all the time. As a veteran fight fan of over two decades, I don’t even watch postfight interviews. Adrenaline is pumping and those guys are likely to say anything. And I don’t even remember reading where Ward said he would fight Ward. I remember an article where Virgil Hunter said Ward could beat AJ.Comment

Arguably the world’s best pound-for-pound boxer, Ward believes he can beat anybody – and that includes WBA…

Of course my team and myself, I believe I can beat anybody, so we’ll see.Comment

This was during his retirement; two months out from his last fight, so your "adrenaline" excuse is bull****.Last edited by hitking; 02-09-2018, 07:56 PM.Comment

He believes he can beat anybody. WTF else do you expect an elite athlete to say? He didn’t get where he is by not being supremely confident in himself. Either way, I don’t think you can hold his feet to the fire and say “he must fight AJ” because of statements he’s made. I mean, if Lomachencko comes out and says he thinks he can beat Ward, would you hold is feet to the fire and demand he fight him? Because th size difference is about the same as Ward and AJ. Actually Ward and Lomachencko are closer in size than Ward and AJ.
Got it.Comment

Plain true! Ward is the most overrated bum of this era. He clearly lost first fight against Krusher, gained a fake win in rematch through low-blows. He's great on clinching, head-butts, low-blows. Problem is: Are these tricks gonna work against a Cruiserweight beast (Gassiev, Usyk, even Lebedev i'd say)? Certainly not. Gassiev, whose raw power is fearing, would beat the s**t out of him. Stay retired, baby Ward, out there is full of evil guys who could send u to an eternal rest...Comment
