Yes it's subjective. There's no rules that says he should be still considered champion. TBRB ranks lineal champs and guess what? Fury isn't there.

The ******s like you can go on claiming he's lineal, people with common sense won't.

To be considered a champion in any sport you have to be active. 2 and half years without competing isn't active.

I cannot remember if Fury actually has claimed retirement at some point?
Fury was claiming retirement every other week on twitter.

Why? He's not banned and has his license back, and is currently training hard and shedding weight. I think the odds of him returning are pretty good

Why? AJ isn't some world beater. The only opponent he's ever faced with a bit of movement is Takam, and he looked like dog ****. Fury is a level above the likes of Takam and the rest of the bums on AJ's resume.

Meh, who cares? If Fury comes back and beats Joshua, he'll be rated the #1 HW in the world by anyone with a boxing brain. Wilder still hasn't fought a top 10 opponent, thus his high ranking is laughable.
Because he is/was over 400 pounds. Also, Fury retired instead of fighting Wilder. Wilder had been calling him out before Wlad, and Fury didn't want any. He was busy playing dress up as superheroes. Thus, Fury's high ranking is laughable. He is scared of someone who shouldn't be ranked high.

Wilder has literally tried to fight Fury, AJ, Wlad, Povetkin, Ortiz, Parker etc. All of them had excuses. If anything, Wilder should be #1 instead of #2 because he wants to fight the best while AJ wants to fight Miller and Fury is saying something ****** about Big Macs, gays, or Batman and still NOT FIGHTING ANYONE.

Also, doctors should be very careful before clearing him to fight. When an ex-coke head who was over 400 pounds exercises too much at once, that is how people have heart attacks.

he would gain massive amounts of weight between fights and then cut down rapidly in camp. As that stopped working as he got older, he started taking pills to correct that issue, which he blamed for him looking crappy either against Spinks or Holmes (cant remember which one)

              • It's been over two years since he's fought so until he fights I still consider him to be "retired" so therefore can't be considered the lineal champion.

                  From your link.

"This is a list of lineal boxing world champions. An official list of lineal champions in professional boxing is maintained by the Cyber Boxing Zone (CBZ) website, with input from boxing historian Tracy Callis of the International Boxing Research Organization. These were first published in 1994, and are retrospective to the introduction of the Queensberry Rules in 1885.[1][2] The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, which promotes the concept of one world champion per weight class,[3][4] hands out the most complete version of the lineal championship and is recognized by CBZ for maintaining the list of genuine lineal world champions.[5]"

Neither Cyber Boxing Zone or TBRB recognises Fury. Thanks for owning yourself.

The rules of the lineal title actually clearly say he's not the champion. You can only lose the lineal title in the ring, by leaving the division, or retiring. Fury very clearly publicly announced his retirement. The second he does that, the lineal title is vacant.

So much bias in all that.

Fury retired instead of facing Klitschko, considering he retired prior to the already scheduled fight between him and Wlad... only a complete fanboy would try and claim that as some kind of moral victory for Wilder.
