MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina — Former world champion boxer Carlos Monzon was charged Sunday with killing his estranged wife during an early morning fight in which she fell to her death from the balcony of an apartment, police said.

Monzon, 45, world middleweight champion from 1970 until retiring in 1977, suffered two broken ribs and a broken clavicle during the fight and was hospitalized in this beach resort 250 miles south of Buenos Aires, authorities said.

Police said Alicia Muniz, Monzon's third wife, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fight. The incident occurred at an apartment where Muniz, a part-time actress, was staying with television actor Adrian Martel, police said.

Police said the estranged pair argued loudly at about 6:45 a.m., exchanged blows and that Muniz fell from the second story balcony to the street.

In February, 1973, Monzon was shot twice but not seriously injured during an argument with his wife, Ana Maria.

Do you know how betting works?

The bookies set the initial odds.

I was talking about the people on this site picking Canelo to win too.

Yeah the guys a straight up scumbag. He didn't even have a case for suing him, just acting like a diva as usual. The stress that ward put on him could have accelerated the process of his death, no doubt about it.

His whole existence is some string of tragic luck.

He will make a big comeback from his fake retirement & put on another ****show filled with suspicious officiating against an overseas fighter in the US.
He beat the "crusher" TWICE...LOL....you mad....LOL

Former world champion Carlos Baldomir will remain in custody in Santa Fe, Argentina while he is being investigated for the alleged crime of sexually abusing his daughter.

Earlier today, the local justice today rejected a request for his release and aggravated the charges by adding on another offense - "corruption of a juvenile".

The measure was ordered at noon by the judge of the Criminal Investigation Preparatory (IPP), Nicholas Falkenberg, after a three-hour hearing in the basement of the Palace of Courts.

He was fighting for what he thought was right. The fact that the man he was fighting in court was dying really had nothing to do with anything. You don't quit fighting for your rights because the man you are fighting is sick or dying. I don't think that made Ward petty and the fact that he lost his case doesn't make him petty either. He just stood up for what he thought was right in court.

What a ****ty person. In september 2014 Goossen died.

That was the period of time when HBO and Golovkin wanted the fight, and Ward said no because he was battling against Goossen.

Great person tho. Such an hypocrite.
