And everyone can stop the injury/surgery bs. That is bs, because Thurman knew he needed it immediately after fighting Garcia and Thurman WAITED FOR MONTHS to get the surgery. Then he is crying that he had surgery.

Thurman has been ducking Spence for years. Mayweather wanted Thurman-Spence on one of his undercards years ago. Where a win, could have very easily let to a fight with Floyd. Thurman said Spence needed to beat some top guys. Then he KO'd the previously never KO'd Algieri, and then KO'd Bundu who went the distance against Thurman, and Thurman was still making excuses.

Spence has been calling out Thurman for years. Literally. Thurman always has some excuse. He can fight Vargas or whoever else he wants next, he can even fight Rod Salka, that does not matter. But to have a rematch with Porter before facing Spence is ducking, there is nothing else to call that. I mean dang, Mayweather and Ward even fought more then Thurman does. For a champion, who is undoubtedly in his prime, to only fight once every year or two is a disgrace.
Thurman knows he won't be able to keep Spence off him, run like he did vs Garcia in the championship rounds.

No he did not, stop spreading false info. He fought Garcia in March and had surgery in April, he probably had to wait a few weeks for the swelling to ease off before surgery. He hasn't been inactive by choice, regardless of how you try to spin it.

Spence was calling him out when he was a prospect, it would have made zero sense to fight him then. He only won a title in May and now he has proven that he's a top level fighter and then some. So now it's a realistic fight to make.

You people are always saying **** like 'if he doesn't want the fight he should just say it'...well guess what, Thurman has word for word said he's not ready right now, physically he's not 100% and wants to get active. Thurman not acknowledging Spence is clearly bothering Spence and building the 'he's scared' narrative among casual fan like yourself, thus making the fight bigger and better.

Don't get me wrong, I would rather see the fight in late 2018...but fighting him a few months later than that isn't going to kill anybody. Thurman and Spence are the two top fighters with PBC, the fight is gonna happen when Al Haymon thinks it's ready.

Key words, RIGHT NOW. you're right, RIGHT NOW is the fight to make.l, but you can't blame Thurman for not making taking the fight the past 2 years.

BTW, you tell a fighter that sacrifice so much for those titles that titles are irrelevant. Titles are always relevant.

If he doesn't rematch Porter, he will lose the title he's worked so hard to get, so that has to happen before the Spence fight. Yes, he's only fought twice in the last 3 years, but most PBC fighters barely fight twice a year; more like twice every 14-15 months. He's fought the top contenders that were more Deserving than Spence in Porter and Garcia. You don't get a shot at Thurman because you're a hot prospect. You gotta put your work in. NOWWWWWWW Spence deserves a shot at Thurman, but again, Thurman gotta do his mando first

I don’t care about the past couple years. I’m saying there’s no reason why the fight shouldn’t happen in 2018.

As for the belts, f.uck em. All that sacrificing to win them is bull****. Once you win the title, it’s won. The boxing public knows who’s who. And we don’t need belts to tell us that. Thurman loses more by not fighting Spence in order to hang onto the belts. Than he he does by dropping the belts in order to fight Spence.

I was talking about how Brook had to fight Spence because he was the mando, or get stripped. As for Thurman/Spence, Im all for it, after Thurman has a tuneup 1st. Spence just had his tuneup vs LP. Thurman is coming back from surgery/injury.

I don’t think you’ll find too many people that have a problem with Thurman wanting to take a tune-up fight before Spence. The problem is that he wants to put Spence off until 2019, using his mandatory against Porter as an excuse. He and Spence are clearly the top two guys in the division. He’s already beaten Porter. And Porter was soundly beaten by Brook, who’s now a Spence victim. Therefore a rematch with Porter is a complete waste of time and a duck. If the WB-whoever wants to take his belt, who gives a f.uck. Let them take it, and make the Spence fight happen.

Thurman DESERVES a pass because he is an injured champion that is deserving of rest and a rehabilitation fight. U learn from "others" mistakes......Brook came back too soon and paid the price, so why should Thurman capitalize on a WRONG MOVE!??
