A fight like this is how you create a challenger the public has heard of. Two former champions. The winner will go on to bigger things. The loser may not get another chance.
Pretty much this! Im watching it. Its on fox so i can catch it pretty much anywhere i go.

You're missing the point. I'd rather we the fans get a better fight as a main event. Whether fox or pbc is paying for the timeslot.
Are you honestly telling me you're excited at watching victor Ortiz in a main event?

And when the telecast is over, SHO's telecast will start with even bigger fights. Never ceases to amaze me how much people like to complain. None of this is PPV. The FOX show is basically a free extra undercard before the SHO event.

It's not a Showtime Championship Boxing. It's a free show on FOX. Essentially prelim fights before the SHO event begins. People like you are just never happy. How many ESPN2, FS1, BEIN, UNIMAS, etc main events feature two guys average fans have actually heard of and might want to see again?

Yes, way more excited than the typical ESPN2 or FS1 main event. Ortiz & Alexander have been in a lot of fun fights over the years and I'm interested to see which one of them will be able to secure a bigger fight and which one is finished.

As for it being a main event, it's not the main event in my household. I'll be watching Showtime that night, so it's really just a four fight night of boxing as far as my evening will be concerned.

Cool, we simply disagree. You feel it's a solid main event. I don't. Fox (which to me is a very valuable slot for boxing) should give the opportunity to someone other than Ortiz. Especially when pbc has a long list of fighters.

a couple of has beens. Ortiz will quit like he did vs Berto and Collazo. Dude shouldn’t be on tv ever again. But with investor money drying up this is all the time buy can pay for. Just like Figueroa Guerrero.

these are what fox shows are reduced to so as pbc finishes up their time buys. Youre right though. It’s better than most unimas or espn2 cards

Devon stops this one early, think Ortiz is shot to s*** and Devon was awesome before he became an alien because of that tonic Mr Burns gave him.

The main reason I’m puzzled by this fight is that neither has anything to gain from winning. It could set up a fight against a contender, but their names are big enough to skip over each other and go right into that type of fight. They are the type of opponents that Garcia, Thurman, etc feed on unfortunately.
This is about Alexander. Only his second fight in God knows how many years. If he wins convincingly, he’s looking at a top 5-10 contender and into title contention. I’d love a match versus Collazo or even Danny Garcia next.

Could be a time buy as well. If its a test run I think then they are doing themselves a disservice by putting on Ortiz Alexander instead of Thurman Vargas or Garcia Rios. Pbc will always give their best fights to Showtime and even those arent that good. Pbc suck all around and I think Fox might just he doing this for leverage in negotiations with Ufc
