he's a solid fighter with a ton of experience and good power, one of the more experienced fighters in boxing. he fought a guy in his second pro fight. sh#t happens. lomachenko was literally better at boxing by the end of the fight.

as it now appears that lomachenko is one of the two best boxers on the planet, it's a good win. but you ahve to consider just how green lomachenko was and how much he's improved.

Loma went into that fight basically an amateur and came out of it a seasoned Pro.

I bet if you asked him about that fight he would have no regrets. He learned on how to become a professional champion that night.

The low blows didn't really debilitate Loma and weren't the be all and end all of the fight. Loma was green and Salido was a seasoned veteran. Not as big a loss as people make out.

Experience. Salido pulled out veteran moves to beat the inexperienced opponent.

Gtfo with low blows. It’s a fight, not game of poosie ping pong.

Salido beat him fair and square. If somebody hits you low, you retaliate.

Nah, Lomachenko is an Alien from Lalala land and his skin colour is of an Alien breed. Just that humans were still learning the futuristic way that Lomachenko boxes. Hence, the judges gave the win to Salido.

                How did you see it?

Lomachenko lost due to the lack of 12 rounds experience in professional bouts mainly.

I agree 100%! Siri Salido has been fighting as a pro in Mexico since he was 15 years old. Many cry he's a dirty fighter. Be that as it may you don't encounter a junk yard dog in an alley at midnight and think you are coming out of the encounter unscathed.

The 11 pound weight advantage in the ring was the biggest reason. Lomachenko getting hit in the balls with all that extra weight just compounded the issue. But the real issue was that Salido walked through Lomachenko's punches for most the fight just due to size. And Lomachenko was inexperienced, wanted to conserve energy, and didn't throw enough punches. Lomachenko these days is a volume puncher, but vs Salido he looked like someone who didn't have the stamina to fight all 12 rounds. I think Salido's size and fouling, and Lomachenko's inexperience going 12 rounds, were the reasons for that. If Lomachenko actually matched Salido's punch output all 12 rounds, it wouldn't have been close. He was much more precise, just got outworked by the bigger man. Lomachenko also had to stay on defense a lot because Salido was walking through his punches, putting Salido always at range to hit him, whereas normally you hit a guy and it pushes them back, giving you safe distance to look for more offensive openings. But when a guy walks through all your punches, he is also in range to hit you, so you have to stay on defense more, limiting your offense. Even with the fouls, if Salido had weighed the same as Lomachenko in the ring, Lomachenko would have knocked him out easily. The size is what allowed Salido's mauling to work.
