Do you think Max Schmelling took a dive against Joe Louis?

Back then in the first fight he dominated Louis and won every round and tried to carry Louis' unconscious body up to his feet to greet after the end of the fight.

And then they rematch in 36' I think, with Schmelling discouraged that he was going to represent the "Superior Aryan Race" knowing he was a very good man at heart and was never a racist, even to black people whom he had friends with.

Do you think he took a dive for their rematch for reasons of not wanting to support Hitler's racist party?

It wouldn't surprise me if that ever came out. He did look like he was ready to eat right hands without defense and the way he was clinging on to the ropes to take a beating looked weird, like many fights of those times did. It was just a bizarre looking fight, Louis' fans simply think it was all attributed to his greatness.

Schmelling was a few years older, Louis a few years more experienced compared to the first bout.

Louis beat the **** out of him. That isnt what a dive looks like

Sure he did the ref broke his ribs and the lady in the first row was yelling every time Louis sunk his left hook into Max's gut! The blood he pissed was actually ketchup from the hot dogs he ate right after the fight too!

Watch the fight, did it look like he took a dive?
Louis is the best short armed body puncher in history.
The torque and balance he displayed is exactly what's known as "bringing power up from the floor". Perfect technique by the best punching technical; heavyweight of all time.

Max was all about integrity do you real think he slipped out?

In spite of his losing to joe, hitler sent him to the front lines, he survived, sold Coke a cola and lived a wonderful life.

Only he can say how happy his life was, for him.

I don't know about "dive". I just see a bizarre beating, not a boxing match. It was more like WWE. How many times do you see a boxer grab the ropes, curl up and allegedly "scream like a woman in a horror movie" while his opponent is teeing off?

Like I said a lot of fights from those days look "off". Like their reactions aren't natural looking. And when some say a large percentage of fights were fixed I tend to believe it. A lot of old timers would never accept it but my eyes can't fool my brain when I see something like this.

Yeah, and Pacquiao took a dive against Marquez so he could lure Mayweather into a fight. Then he took dive against Mayweather for $100M.
