While having Wilder in the top 10 P4P is ridiculous, I'm not sure that it's any more ridiculous than having Golovkin at #2 P4P for beating Danny Jacobs by 1 pt. I think it speaks to the fact that most boxing media are fans first. Very few real professionals in the business.

We have THE EXACT SAME top five, in a slightly different order.

As if there are miles between these guys.

        LOL

I'm not so much going at you Cliff as I am the vast majority of boxing media since most seem convinced of Golovkin's superiority. I mean the Ring has him at #1 P4P and the Ring was for a long time considered the source for P4P rankings. I'm just not sure how a guy like Golovkin gets as much credit for his 2017 as he does.

Back when Jacobs and Canelo were too "scared" to fight Golovkin everyone predicted he'd knock them out in a couple rounds. But the judges scored Golovkin-Jacobs 6 rounds to 6 each (18 rounds to 18 total). Golovkin won by 1 pt. due to a KD. The judges scored Golovkin-Canelo a split draw (21 rounds to 15 for Canelo total). Yet the majority of the media continue to crown his ass. After 24 rounds with Jacobs (Pirog victim) and Canelo (Mayweather victim), he was unable to truly separate himself from the pack. And yet he still manages to find himself at #1 or 2 on most lists. Why? Because he beat Macklin, Geale, Murray, and Lemieux?

Fair play and understand your point. For me, I just didn’t see the Rigo win as enough to blow by the three in front of Loma for now and that was the only fight to go on. Roman losing and Ward retiring has more to do with his spot than anything. If Ward were active, I’d have Ward/Crawford.

Not hardly a stretch! Of the list mentioned, Crawford is the only one to have successfully unified his division and he is moving up to unify another division!

Badou jack is a terrible choice for the top ten. Between this and choosing Joshua as FOTY, can't say I'm respecting boxing scenes choices lately. They are supposed to know they're boxing.

That was no draw. Jack should have gotten the win.

He's been quietly getting better and better with every fight, in case you haven't noticed. The man has transformed himself into a very complete all-around boxer.

And he's proving it in two different weight classes. When he fights Adonis Stevenson I'm picking him to become the new champ.
