And Pulev was AJ's IBF mandatory, so AJ chose to go with Pulev vice Ortiz! Once Ortiz failed his drug WBC drug test, the WBA stripped Ortiz of his mandatory spot for AJ! Luckily, Wilder had the balls to give the man a shot!

He signed to fight Wilder, he'd have been stripped of his mandatory spot win or lose anyway. He was guaranteed a WBA shot next, he chose to make far less fighting Wilder.

Ortiz's team has been pushing for the fight against Joshua, insisting that the WBA guaranteed them that they were next after stepping aside to allow Wladimir Klitschko to face Anthony Joshua in April.

The IBF is more strict and willing to strip fighters. Both the WBA and IBF ordered fights. Joshua contacted both and worked it out. IBF first and then WBA. Ortiz walked away from a guaranteed fight. FACT
