They thought ggg was worth more than 50/50, and the cotto Canelo winner was a far more lucrative fight...the timing for the ggg ward fight wasn't good from their perspective. We also know ward doesn't move off having things the way he wants. In any circumstance, it would have required more concession from ggg whether 168 or 175 and with the purse split.

If we weren't living in the time of blowing smoke to the media, we wouldn't even be talking about this. Ward knew what he was doing, and that's fine...but it's not how fights get made. Golovkin and his promoter TURNED DOWN THE OFFER THEY GOT FROM ROCNATION IN A HALF HOUR.

This was part of the response:
