I don't get why people insist on discussing Floyd like he's active or coming back. They guy is over 40 and retired...no **** he struggles against top active fighters.

No, I’m saying he didn’t need to do anything by that point. Certainly no one was clamoring for him to fight Thurman.

Thurman barely registered on his radar and he had earned the right to fight whoever for his last fight. As it happens, he was having a personal argument with Berto at the time so the fight kind of built itself.

But it’s irrelevant what happened then. Floyd was at the tail end of his career and looking to go out on an easy win. You only have to wind it back one fight previously to show Floyd fighting much tougher opposition than Keith Thurman, so what does it matter?

It’s all irrelevant anyway because had he fought Thurman he’d have won an easy decision anyway. You know this, which is why it’s such a ****** point to make in the first place.

BTW Berto gives Thurman problems any night of the week too.

I guess disagreeing around here is not cool. I thought this was a place people come to discuss boxing. My bad..

I personally feel Spence is someone who is scary good. He for me is on par with say a Judah in his prime (Different style) who has that raw talent. He seems a lot better in terms of the mental game however.

I have never been overly impressed with Thurman or Crawford IMO.

What the hell else do you think would’ve happened?

Why isn’t Manny fighting Thurman? He’s still an active fighter. Why didn’t he fight him instead of Horn?

Manny has ducked Spence/Crawford/Khan/Brook/Porter/Thurman in the past few years, yet he gets on a plane and goes to Australia to fight a bloke no one has ever heard of in the middle of the day, in front of 500 people.

Ya that makes a ton of sense.

I think he was low risk? Lookey here. I KNOW he was. The risks have become lower and lower since Hatton
Maidana was low risk high reward?

At the tail end of his career I think you know that’s bollocks.

But then, you’re talking a lot of bollocks on this thread.

Floyd would love them on his resume as it would improve it.
But he can't beat them now and his zero is too important. That's why its best Floyd retires
