Maidana? Now what is a slow, plodding, crude, c fighter in any era you choose, who is just awkward, really gonna do with a great technician who can see that s**t coming a mile away?Comment

Seriously, the guy who fought careful his entire career, ran and clinched for most of it, averaged about 35 punches per round, and dodged some of the most dangerous fighters in their prime, is suddenly going to let someone hit him, repeatedly? Not a chance.Comment

the funny thing is, when fans complain about floyd's boring fights in the past, the floyd fans would say "floyd doesnt have to do anything to please the fans if what he's doing is winning him the fight", "why would floyd fight his opponent fight for". now they're saying floyd fought conor that way on purpose to please the fans.Comment

Maidana was a cherry-pick gone wrong. Floyd underestimated him and I had Maidana winning that first fight. One his best day, Maidana is a crude brawler and B-rate all the way.
Don't forget, Floyd asked his fans to vote for his next opponent while only offering Khan and Maidana as choices. He ducked Khan (who already beat Maidana) so he could face Maidana instead. It wasn't enough he was fighting a B-rate guy, but he had to pull a bytch move crying about gloves. For the rematch he got his bodyguard Kenny Bayless to watch his back for him.Comment

Those were good wins. I love corrales and castillo was good. But not the athletic type as crawford, spence, and thurman. I mean corrales as fun as he was fought an eliminator on espn fnf to get floyd. You just couldnt miss him, with a straight right, as atlas said the whole broadcast. His bread and butter is the one castillo win which was very entertaining fight. Castillo was very erratic and undisciplined during career. And manfredy is nothing to write home about if you are a solid guy. Anyways floyd is a sure fire hof guy but i still say he never went against these types of fighters. He would rather fought ortiz, and guerrero and canelo types who are slow and plodding. And thats fine. But my opinion stays the same. Peace outJust letting you know, at the same age (27) Floyd had already beat the following champions:
Hernandez, Manfredy, Corrales, Castillo 2x
Not to mention Corley and Jesus Chavez (who weren't champions but real contenders)
His resume is miles ahead of Spence at the same age. There are guys in the HOF with worst resumes than a 27 year old Floyd.
I get what you're saying, but those guys haven't shown anything to suggest they're close in class to Floyd. Spence will likely end up like the 154 guys from the 80s (Jackson, McCallum, McClellan, Norris, etc.) In terms of stature imo, just because of his style (I don't think his body holds up for another 8 or so years). Crawford has the potential to transcend, but it'll be tough to get past Spence to push him into that ATG conversation.Comment
