Boxing is becoming more and more a science about being able to maniuplate your weight as good as possible, to rehydrate as much as possible, just being 1-2 weightclasses above your opponent and voila, you win as long the other guy is not vastly superiors. Imagine if Jacobs had the same weight as GGG when they fought, would have been stopped in a couple rounds.
Anyway you cant blame Jacobs for abusing the rules, they need to look into them and make a change rather sooner than later, people will get more and more creative with reducing weight for a few mins for the weighin and ballooning up within 36 hours.
Yet , you didn't have a problem with Golovqueen manipulating the weight by dragging a guy up 2 whole weight classes in the Kell Brook fight, but begged & cried for mercy for Golovqueen by not wanting him to give up any weight to CANELO.
jdj wasted his lip flapping on the wrong guy. hopefully he will learn to stfu about how great his guy is. all trainers should zip it.
yeah, trainers are confident. dont have to be braggadocios about it (unless your guy is a certified badass).
every trainer says the same junk....''my guy the best. beats everyone.''
every trainer has the same excuse/s after the L...''other guys size, doe !!'', ''my guy got an injury, doe !!''
My original statement was missing a qualifier that I intended which was that Jacobs did look bigger but at least part of the perception comes from Jacobs height and Arias squatting which magnifies any difference in size. But no two fighters ever weigh in and enter the ring at the same weight, with or without same day weigh ins and it will always be that way regardless of rules cause same day weigh in may close the gap in water weight, but it introduces the greater risks which is not some water weight difference, but a documented health risk with dehydration levels just before a fight that all started with the Gabrial Rueles vs Jimmy Garcia tragedy. Both Jacobs and Arias gained weight, not just Jacobs when they entered the ring. Whatever difference was, is water weight and is not healthy either but is par for the course under current rules when considering what the the alternative would be.
If reydration is handled properly, and the fighter is young and fit enough for his body to fully reassimilate lost fluid by fight night, then it's not just water weight we're talking about. A pint glass holds more beer than a half pint glass because it's a bigger glass!
At the end of the day he made weight and Arias had the opportunity to re-hydrate like Jacobs. However I would like to see fighter being weighed on the day (like they used to) so fighters would be closer to their true weight and we wouldn't have quite as many issues with weight disparity.
The same people pissing and moaning that GGG should move up in weight are the same people saying “oh but Jacobs made weight so it’s okay “. This mofo abuses weight he should be at 168 or 175 without a doubt. Either way GGG whooped him and so would Canelo and lemieux. Jacobs looked like an average bum yesterday yet his fans were gloating that he would destroy the “PROSPECT “ Arias in two.
GTFOH! Jacobs already beat lil g & so did Nelo. Jacobs is a middleweight so stop your crying. lil g is the #5 in the division at best!
Unless there is a rule that states otherwise then i couldn't careless, when Gatti was doing it i didn;t hear anyone complain, when people were saying the same thing that Mayweather opponents had an unfair advantage over him we got verbally abused, we said this many times and i hope one day the commisions/organisations bring in the rules were you shouldn't be more than 10 pounds over the weight on fight night. When you shrink yourslef that much and then ballon up in weigh the next day isnt that dangerous for your health?

rubbish !!
the total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weigh-in, NOT 1 day later.....
excess rehydration, can even be detrimental
you guys crying about a couple of pounds of rehydration weight is hilarious
if a couple of pounds of rehydration weight on Danny Jacobs caused Golovkin sooooo many problems, then how was he going to live with Andre Ward?
