"lil g" the middleweight beat 2 cruiserweights. life is hard right now if you are a ggg hater. everything you said about him blew up in your face. only fights bums....beat the 3 best guys in his division. only picks on smaller fighters...just beat 2 guys who outweighed him.Comment

I'm a fan. Of Jacobs and Charlo, too. The division is heating up and people are getting insecure."lil g" the middleweight beat 2 cruiserweights. life is hard right now if you are a ggg hater. everything you said about him blew up in your face. only fights bums....beat the 3 best guys in his division. only picks on smaller fighters...just beat 2 guys who outweighed him.Comment

My original statement was missing a qualifier that I intended which was that Jacobs did look bigger but at least part of the perception comes from Jacobs height and Arias squatting which magnifies any difference in size. But no two fighters ever weigh in and enter the ring at the same weight, with or without same day weigh ins and it will always be that way regardless of rules cause same day weigh in may close the gap in water weight, but it introduces the greater risks which is not some water weight difference, but a documented health risk with dehydration levels just before a fight that all started with the Gabrial Rueles vs Jimmy Garcia tragedy. Both Jacobs and Arias gained weight, not just Jacobs when they entered the ring. Whatever difference was, is water weight and is not healthy either but is par for the course under current rules when considering what the the alternative would be.No. He did not look bigger because arias was “squating”
He looked bigger because he’s taller AND his calves, quads, chest, arms, shoulders, back, traps & neck are bigger then Arias’s. If I spent more time on boxing forums instead of real boxing gyms (which I don’t and never will) I’d give you a bad rating or bad rep or whatever you computer warriors call it for such a ****** cmoment. Jacobs dehydrates about 20 pounds to make 160. He enters the ring weighing what a cruiser weight does (anything over 175 pounds).
I’m a big Jacobs fan, great guy, great fighter... but call a spade a spade.Last edited by richardt; 11-12-2017, 10:54 PM.Comment

While I know he's probably saying this because he's at the tail end of a loss over it. In any other situation its hard to argue against his point here. Weight melting should not be a skill required for boxing and if you bring back fight day weigh-ins I guarantee that half the fighters in their divisions (112 to 175) can't cut it. It'll be like musical chairs with some fighters having to move up one or two divisions and since power doesn't carry up usually it'll be very telling.Comment
