You make some good points. Its possible, even feasable that Roy could have survived long enough for a decision. If he fought Lewis right after Ruiz. -

I was saying it. Several others were saying it. As for the media, they were too busy reading press releases that instructedthem to hype the fight, but everyone with any knowledge of boxing knew why Ruis was picked. Even a byrd fight would have made more money for Roy, but Byrd was still fighting as a slick southpaw at the time and the outcome wasn't virtually guaranteed. While I think Roy would have won that fight, Byrd still had the chance of making him look silly, even in victory. The other 2 champions at the time would have just flat killed him.Originally posted by Super_LightweightFor those of you who say Ruiz wasn't a real challenge...hardly anyone was saying that before the fight.

**** no. Lewis would have knocked him out the minute he punched into Roy's GLOVES let alone hit him flush. Lewis by KO by the 4th round.Comment

An appropriate song for Roy's ring entrance in this fight would be 50 cent - Many Men...for the fans who wanted to see this fight obviously wish death upon him.
Lennox by death whenever he wants.Comment

Actually a lot of people viewed that fight as a joke, including myself. I said Roy would run circles around this guy, especially seeing how easily Johnson was handling Ruiz when he actually boxed in the fight before that. I even told everyone I knew Roy wouldn't stay at heavyweight and if he did, the only two guys he would fight would be BYRD and HOLYFIELD. So, no, people actually were saying it wasn't a challenge before the fight.Originally posted by Super_LightweightLennox was slow and lethargic vs Vitali, and it would've been very possible for Roy to win that fight in my eyes. Every time I watch that Vitali fight, I think the same thing.

the thing is, u have 2 take the title from the champion (& by that i mean not just survivin) so i doubt rjj could of won this fightComment

Lennox KOs his ass but RJJ still gets credit for fighting such a large man.Originally posted by JuicyJuiceLet's here the differing opinions, please.
After Jones beat Ruiz, he agrees to face Lennox Lewis instead of Antonio Tarver. What happens?Comment
