So in this case specifically the belt has more value if Kovalev wins then if this cat with too many letters in his name beats Kovalev.
Why? Beating Kovalev is more impressive than beating Shabranskyy.

Kovalev has made a name for himself already. The other too many letters in his name guy hasn't. Simple as that.

Anyone with a name makes a belt more valuable, but anyone who beats a name makes it more valuable than two guys fighting for a belt with no name. The belts are all more or less equal not considering who holds it. Floyd, Manny or Cotto with a whatever belt makes that belt more valuable than a no name belt holders belt.

When you start talking about unified or undisputed title holders and the more bs interim, regular, IBO and below belts it gets more up in the air, but with the 4 main belts the guy who holds the title is more important than the title they are holding.

Then why are the titles worth so much less at purse bid?

Why does their heavyweight title struggle to get on TV?

What alternate universe are you living in? Clearly the world values the other 3 above the WBO. Most legitimate title? Are you nuts? Hearn runs the UK and barely bothers with the WBO, leaving Warren to monopolize it. Haymon runs the US and barely bothers with the WBO, leaving Arum to monopolize it.

Nobody in the sport values the WBO above the others. It's a last resort.

I agree WBO always was last but now do any real boxing fans value any of them. to me they are not champs they are titleholders,i belive the real champ is THE RING champ or lineal champ

Its like Miguel Cotto winning the WBO belt, he beat Yoshihiro Kamegai whos terrible and lost to ***in Alfonso Gomez. Hell Cotto at this point isnt even a top 5 guy in the LMW divsion.

Another example is Liam Smith being WBO champion, he beat some guy called John Thompson to become champ. Like is John Thompson is a top 10 guy or even World level?

Seems like they just give title shots to any bum, and feed that bum to popular champions who draw crowds like Canelo, Cotto etc
Nah. Look at the IBF. You Beterbiev fighting a bum in Koeling for the vacant 175 lb belt. Shabranskyy is more legit than Koeling and Kovalev is way more established than Beterbiev.

Why stop there? You also had the IBF sanctioning Charles Martin vs Glazkov for their vacant heavyweight title.

You have Sergey Lipinets fighting a bum in Kondo for their vacant 140 lb title which is also way worse than Kovalev vs Shabranskyy.

You say who has Gilberto Ramirez beat but who has Lipinets, Charles Martin or Beterbiev beaten? See what I am saying?

You have Tevin Farmer vs Kenichi Ogawa in another bum city fight for the vacant 130 lb IBF title as well.
