Exactly. Who asked for Wilder-Whyte in the first place? Wilder's team clearly wants that fight otherwise they wouldnt be going back and forth with Hearn in the media about it. All this public negotiation bs is just to hype up a fight that no one asked for, to try to trick fans into thinking they wanted this by the time the fight is made.
I have no interest in Wilder-Whyte. Whyte hit Chisora with his best shots all night and couldn't get him out of there. I want to see Wilder fight someone in the top 5, not the top 15. Ortiz would have been good, but two years ago. If Vladimir comes back, that should have happened years ago too if Wilder didn't duck him. Maybe even Povetkin, probably still much better than Whyte. THAT would be a good fight, Whyte vs Povetkin, to see what Povetkin has left.
Those are worthwhile fights. Whyte vs Wilder though? Whyte got stopped easily by Joshua, and barely beat Derek Chisora, who Fury beat easily. No one asked for Wilder vs Whyte.
