"the thing about it is I don’t need Dillian Whyte. I don’t need to fight him. And if Joshua don’t wanna fight, then that’s fine, too."

Spoken like a true champion. THIS is why Wilder has no fans, and has no right to talk about Americans "supporting their own." When you're scared to fight the 10th ranked guy in your division, like Whyte, someone who isn't even an elite fighter, then why would fans support you? And when Wilder says it's fine if Joshua doesn't want to fight either, you know he means it, because Wilder has been fine fighting bums for decent change on the Al Haymon program for the last 5 to 10 years!

Wilder is literally ducking the #10 guy in his division who no one even wants to see him fight. "Overpay me to fight this average contender, or I refuse to fight him, and I will just fight more far far below average contenders and bums." That is not what Americans want in their "champions." That is cherry picker scared ducker talk 100%. And I hesitate to even say "ducker" in this case because that implies people want to see him fight Whyte, and that he's ducking Whyte, when in reality who is Whyte? No one wants that fight either, but yes, Wilder is overpricing himself for that fight, which is a well known ducking strategy, and then he says he doesn't "need" Whyte. That's like saying "I don't have to fight him." It's ducker language. Instead of talking about how you WANT to fight the best, you're talking about who you don't HAVE to, or "need" to, fight.

In other words, Wilder is saying you can't force me. You can't force me to fight that guy who isn't even that good in the first place. The only good fighter I want to fight is Joshua, because even though I'll lose, I'm going to make so much money I won't care. Other than that cash out, you can't make me fight anyone. I'm happy fighting bums, and if the Joshua cashout doesn't happen either, "that's fine, too," because I am also happy fighting bums and collecting money over time that way.

It's just not how a real champion talks. After this, Wilder has no one to blame for his lack of a fan base but himself. He knows he can't compete on the top level, so that's how he talks. Well, the fans hear him loud and clear, so they also know he's not a real champion, and they've gotten the message from him loud and clear, that they should go elsewhere for real champions to follow in the sport. And they have, as they should have. Good for them. But for Wilder to then criticize the fans for this, when he is the root cause, is ridiculous.

                  Two key points here

-Deontay Wilder has made it abundantly clear that he's open to travelling to fight.

-The number to get Wilder over to the UK to fight Dillian Whyte in London is a package deal worth somewhere between $4m and $7m.

Wilder has no issues with Hearn, Haymon has no issues with Hearn, and DiBella's only real issue with Hearn is that he's trying to set a flag for Matchroom Sport in DiBella's home market.

The deal is there to be had if both sides can come to an understanding. Hit the books, see what type of revenue that could expect for staging Wilder-Whyte at the O2 Arena, gauge the sponsors interest, and see how much money is really possible for you the show.

No one is expecting Hearn to be ready to lose money on the show, but their should be an offer in hand to gauge what Matchroom Sport could put up and reasonably be expected to break even on (with only the money beyond expectations going into the Matchroom coffers as take on the show).

Wilder's TV ratings are always damn good.

Evidently he does have fans....haters(like you) will do as well.
