Cotto was a top guy at 140, a bit over rated at 147 and above. Miguel had heart, wasn't afraid to trade and owned a devastating left hook to the body. He was a fun guy to watch but he should have retired a few years ago.

Liked the article a lot and totally agree, he only lost against the top guys in their prime times so respecto to Cotto, he had a hell of a career.

Personally one of my top 10 fighters of the last 15 years.

Cotto ran to Freddy Roach so there was never a vs de for a Pac rematch. Reach even said so

            Cotto = Broner

Cherry picked weak title holders and/or vacant titles, and got clowned everytime he fought A-level opposition.

He did give Floyd a tough fight.

Cotto is good in my book.
I'm not a big fan of Cotto but considering him a B-class boxer is more than shameful!

And what about putting Floyd & Pac as ATG and Cotto as A+ boxer? or for the ones who are hard to please Floyd & Pac as A+ boxer and Cotto as A-level boxer?

The first fight I wanted to see from Cotto was against Hatton, they were both junior-welterweight world champs and still undefeated at that time, I believe that Cotto would have destroyed Hatton easily at 140 or 147

Before Margarito, Cotto took on a lot of tough contenders and dominated most of them. After Margarito, Cotto's career has been pretty much a joke. Easy vacant title fights in between the big money fights where he regularly got blown out. Cotto became health first and didn't have in him to lay it on the line. The Canelo fight was the worse; he fought that entire fight, looking to have minimal exposure to shots.

                    Cotto and Broner have balls.

the cotto hate on this and other boards is absolutely ridiculous....

got clowned every time he fought a level opposition?...thats funny...i guess you havent paid attention everytime a floyd hater said cotto gave him a tough fight/fits.....i guess you didnt pay attention when your mancrush, golovkin, had his fans clowning on canelo saying he didnt even beat him

cotto fought fine againt floyd and canelo...decent enough showings...hell your boy golovkin didnt do a heck of a lot better if it all...and cotto a career welter lol

cotto took a beating, against a guy with possible loaded gloves, and then confronted his demons and exercised them by beating maragrito up and down easily......

the only real blowout was pacquiao...and lets not pretend pac didnt take some damage....pac had a busted earrdrum and took some punishment as well....arguably the most physical damage pac took in a fight since his emergence to stardom

people hating on cotto arent boxing fans...the man put on a great career....has a resume of whos who...he didnt win them all...he isnt an ATG or the GOAT....but hes a tough SOB and a damn good fighter who didnt back away from much

i know some of you are still upset your hero couldnt get a career WW in the ring for the MW title....but even cotto knows his limits and whats best for him

his resume ****s on almost anyones....and the torres fight alone is better than anything your hero has and ever will do....and thats not just limited to people who hero worship golovkin either

shame on you...shame on you calling yourself a boxing fan and bagging on cotto...any and every one of you
