c'mon man...just say floyd beat more champs and call it a day...you or larry can't save floyd now its too late...

ya still can't answer my question straight...how many prime elite all-time great fighters has floyd beat or even fought...

    the answer is none...

you can dance around it...you can try to make up consolation prizes for it...you can spin that s**t any way ya want, the answer is still ZERO...

other than that, floyd made his bed, ggg career is still going now and this was a ggg thread...much respect to ggg...i hope he can settle things with alvarez and continue to work on his legacy...

he hadn't beat any but neither has your favorite fighter hagler and ggg damn sure ain't beat any either. GGG is 35 and still hasn't even accomplish what floyd had when he was 25.....Floyd's overall resume is still better than anyone's in the last 25 years.

No way he was getting a "one off" with Floyd with so many more lucrative, better name fights out there.

He could have forced the issue with one fight at 154 against a legit number 1. And they would have obviously taken the fight with Gennady because he'd be money for them- Lara was screaming for a fight for years.

He beats Lara at 154 and how could Floyd conceivably stop the media from talking about a showdown?

Like I said, it was all lip service. Golovkin was never serious about that fight. All he had to do is actually follow his 154-168 hype, just that once.
He was saying in reality that if the fight was seriously proposed he would be willing to drop in weight to 154 for Floyd.

Not going to happen. Two out of the three fighters are retired..

If he really wanted a fight with Mayweather, he'd would have proved he can make 154 by dropping down and beating one of Floyd's mandatories, the same way he put himself in line for a shot at the middleweight lineal back in 2014.

But, that would have meant Lara or Andrade or Trout or a Charlo- guys that could box his ears off and maybe take what a drained G could dish- and we know he didn't want that.

It would have also meant he couldn't make excuses about not doing a catchweight with Canelo and we can now all see how smart a move that was.
I don't think he ever tried to force a fight with Floyd, just said that if Mayweather was ever interested he'd be willing to drop the weight. Unless or until he was, he was too busy unifying titles and trying to surpass Hopkins' defense record.

Because nobody ever comes out of retirement, do they? Floyd only has about three times now...

Wrong on Mosley he was washed up 38 years old and 16 months inactive. I mean, he couldn't even beat Sergio Mora in his next fight.

Right on JMM but useless win because of the weight.

Wrong on Pacquaio he was also washed up.

LOL on Corrales. He was on a good run but in 2001 better than Jones, Trinidad, Hopkins, De La Hoya, Lewis, Barrera, Morales, Tszyu, Mosley etc;?

Hatton may have wrongly been on some p4p lists but he ****** as a welterwieght and lost to Collazo in his only fight there.

                    LOL on Guerrero too.

Floyd has a lot of good solid wins, but nothing special. He was conscious enough to make sure he got the "names" on his resume but not enough to fight them when it really mattered apart from financially. Which is funny because the money he made means nothing to his fans - or does it? It was a trick to get casuals into believing he's one of the best fighters ever. His skill set is superb his career doesn't stack up though.

Yeah but Floyd is getting older now and he didn't train properly for his last fight. He said the grind is getting to him. I know people should never say never but it's highly unlikely.
