If its also commonly use as masking agent n its even on the banned list......

Any how KingKong should of let the testers know about his condition and meds he was on, should of told team WilDer himself about it

I dont see the fight going thru after this, WilDer has every right to not go thru and probably shouldnt given how KingKong has history cheating

Luis Ortiz tests positive for banned substances, bout with Deontay Wilder to be canceled

      by Dan Rafael

According to the letter sent by VADA president Dr. Margaret Goodman to Sulaiman and others disclosing the positive test, a copy of which was obtained by ESPN, Ortiz gave a urine sample for a random drug test conducted on Sept. 22 at his training camp in Miami. The results were returned on Thursday, and Ortiz's "A" sample tested positive for the banned diuretics chlorothiazide and hydrochlorothiazide, which are used to treat high blood pressure but also can be used as masking agents for performance-enhancing drug use.

        Unreal man.

The Wilder hating crowd is gonna rejoice that yet another fighter got popped before being able to step in the ring with him.

I was really looking forward to this fight

gonna need more information, but it's hard to take ortiz seriously at this stage in his career. if he's on blood pressure meds he has to disclose it. anybody can take a picture of a prescription. i could have that label printed for you in 24 hours. additioanlly, you could lie to a doctor to have him prescribe it to you because you described the right symptoms and came in with elevated blood pressure [lots of ways to fake that as well.]

i hope this gets cleared up and that the fight goes on, but i have doubts. ortiz is rumored to be getting close to 50 years old . i don't believe for a second that he is 38. that Mfer is not 8 years older than i am. lots of cuban athletes are older than they report them to be, as it's a huge advantage in youth and amateur competition to be older than your opponents.

he may be in a stage in his life where he can't get through training camp without peds. in this case, it sounds like he's blaming things on a blood pressure med, which maybe used to mask or flush ped use. let's see how this one plays out. not looking great, but we can't condemn him just yet.

Well the bucks stop with the NYSAC. The WBC/VADA clean boxing program will submit their findings and make a recommendation.

Then ultimately, the final decision would rest with the State Athletic commission on whether or not they are going to fine or suspend Ortiz or sanction the bout depending on Wilder or simply postpone it.

However, it won't be for the WBC title. It will have to be for a non-title bout.

Why are people defending Ortiz? Why are people blaming Wilder? It's pretty simple that Team Ortiz tried to cheat. If he is on those blood pressure pills all he has to do is tell them before the fight with medical proof. Did he do that before failing the test? It doesn't sound like he did. Looks like he was using it as a masking agent. They know what's on the banned list so it's a clear cheat...

Off topic but how effective is TRT for muscle gain/fat loss? Being that I'm getting closer to 40, I'm curious about the stuff.

                      WOW!!!!

Unreal, Wilder is the most feared man in boxing!

Even the boogeyman rather risk jeopardizing a big time fight than beat Wilder clean!LOL

Why in the *** didn't Ortiz tell Team Wilder he has high blood pressure problems before the fight?

Thats 3 times an opponent did this crap and yet people are still blaming Wilder? Such impudence I tell you!

I was happy for Wilder to finally show his talent and level against a solid opponent and was ready for a stone cold knockout but once again guys know when that nuclear hand finds you....YOU likely will get baptized!

Just bring on the AJ fight so Wilder can finally get the glory and put Joshua on his highlight reel! Pulev doesn't even himself believe he'll win!
