Showtime puts on excellent cards and gets **** ratings. HBO puts on garbage for the most part and gets decent ratings.. Boxing is idiotic.. Who in their right mind would be spending money on this sport is beyond me. Good thing for you guys I'm not in charge of any of these networks lolComment

You invest in the assets, and get the payoff down the line. Thurman-Porter and Thurman-Garcia delivered really good ratings for CBS (with the ad revenue likely not being shabby either). Depending on what you count, Showtime made something like $50m on Mayweather-McGregor.Showtime puts on excellent cards and gets **** ratings. Wilder-Joshua is in the cue for PPV (should easily put $10m into Showtime's coffers), there are easily a few really good fights to take to CBS (Thurman-Spence being a really big one, which might end up on PPV), but then you also have the folks, paying their $100-$150 per year, who have the channel almost solely to watch boxing.
Not the most glamorous business to be in, but if you know what you're doing, and you have the passion and see the value in the sport, there's money to be made in boxing.Comment
