Remember in the comments to that article a week ago or so where Ward fans were gloating that Ward retired Kovalev?

How the tables turn... lol. But Ward fans honestly shouldn't trip. He's probably just cycling PEDs so he can come back later. He's in a stacked division full of punchers, so he's probably just pulling a Floyd move to duck some of them by retiring, and letting them beat each other up and get older while he rests and freshens up his reflexes with PEDs, so he can come back at the right time, against whoever presents the perfect combination of a style Ward likes, money, and aging, and fight that guy.

I definitely wouldn't put it past him. So we'll see what happens.

        Quote from John David Jackson:

        September 8, 2017:

I knew that we could have won the rematch but Sergey started making money, getting big headed and he didn’t want to train hard anymore. Every camp was worse and worse.

I was doing some body work on Sergey, I made him fold up. I’m 54 years old and he couldn't take it. I told Don, if Ward can get inside, withstand his early shots then he (Sergey) is in trouble and that is what happened, he proved me right.

Sergey likes to talk trash. He said a couple of things. He's blaming me for the loss but let me tell you this, you can’t blame me for your loss when you quit. He quit!

He makes Russian people look bad, all the Russians that I’ve trained, they are wonderful people man. They would give you the shirt of their back. This guy (Kovalev), is a complete ****. He wants everything for himself.

So.. it's telling he is cutting and running now. Clearly doesn't think he can win a third fight
It's Beterbiev coming up as his mandatory that Ward is running away from.

ward is older than everybody at 175 except Adonis. so how would he be waiting for them to age when he is older than them?

            you sound like a hater.

agreed. the nut puncher/judge briber will not be missed.

boxing has had boring rule-bending fighters on top for long enough, we need someone aesthetically pleasing as p4p.

Not true...I was rooting for Kovalev in both of those fights, but I genuinely enjoy watching Ward fight. If he would have gone on to fight Bellew or Adonis, I would have been riding with Dre in both of those contests.
