Refused to fight Povetkin last year because he was a PED user but demanded to fight another PED user. Quack Quack.

DiBella is getting carried away. This is the first live opponent Wilder has faced. It's long over due.

Not to be too harsh either but i think he's praised too much for taking the Povetkin fight. It was not his fault it didn't happen and it was a tough fight. But it was happening because it was his mandatory, and he was going to Russia because he lost the purse bid.

Credit for this fight though. Its a good one, on paper is a tough one and he's not opted for an easy way out with a Stiverne rematch, which he could of. Fair play, i'm looking forward to it.

The Cuban is probably the second best heavyweight in the world behind Joshua. In my opinion.
I think Wilder will win this fight. Ortiz throws such a low volume of punches and is old. Wilder should be able to pick him off from the outside and keep moving all night, similar to what he did to lazy, fat@ss Stiverne.

Most of his career was in Cuba? Since when is there pro boxing in Cuba?

It's the way it's supposed to be. Let's not praise people for doing what they're meant to.
              Yep, this is nuts.

A Champion finally takes on a decent challenger in his 39th fight, and Uncle Lou is freaking out like he's running some kind of ****ing gauntlet.

His own words - "this is some throwback stuff". No, it's a Champion actually ****ing fighting someone with a heartbeat. Which should be a bare minimum expectation - not some Gladitor type effort.

These Promoters genuinely think boxing fans are idiots.

So he's someone? He's not someone? He's a good fighter? He's not a good fighter? Make up your mind here, you schmuck.

Plus, Wilder has done so little that he feels he needs respect, and what better risk/reward ratio than a faded 40 year old opponent who was clearly on PEDs when he looked good? So now you put him on VADA, right? ... because Wilder has the WBC ... and turn him into a shell of himself, by both aging him before you fought him and taking him off the PEDs ... then when you beat him, you can act like you beat a monster, when really you only beat the 20th best heavyweight in the world by the time you factor his age and the lack of PEDs into the equation. Just more smoke and mirrors bull**** in boxing, using the fact most fans don't know follow the details like VADA testing or even age as a way to fool them, and manufacture credit for a "top win" for yourself without actually having to risk facing a prime, top opponent.

Same **** Floyd, Ward, and many of the other top North American boxers of this generation have been doing for years, sadly. When did North American boxing become like this? It used to be the best, with tons of true champions. What happened?

So no, this isn't Jake Lamotta stuff. DiBella should be ashamed to pimp Lamotta's name like that the day after he died. Boo this man.
Exactly. DiBella is just doing some (what he sees as) obligatory el supremo knob n' ba11 polishing, that's all. And yes, it is total b.s. to drag LaMotta's name into this warped screed.

Now hes going for Ortiz as people asked. So give him props where props his due.
Except the Rooskie is only one fight. Outside of that and Stiverne, he's fought bums. And if he wins here it isn't anything more than Ortiz not on peds, and past prime.

They were also not his fault between the numerous hand injuries and Fury choosing to fight old man Wlad instead of Wilder and then going bat **** crazy and getting stripped and retired before they could unify.

Joshua has been steered away from Wilder so no discussion there.
