Good call on the draw. It's a fair scorecard. But man.. Byrd needs to be investigated and suspended. If she just scored it 115-113 for Canelo it would have been great.

After the 12 rounds were over I knew this fight could have gone either way or a draw. Not surprised so many people think the same and are okay with a draw.

Don't see why people are crying robbery. People are acting like Canelo wasn't landed decent shots.

Neither man hurt each other, but it was Canelo landing the best punches of the round. Think of how many rounds where you said "oh **** great shot by ggg", most of his work was okay but rarely anything big landing aside of a jab. Canelo out box him in the center and on the ropes, ggg's only consistent success was his jab, no body shots, very few actual clean shots to the head.
the criteria is clean+effective punches, not either or... for all the flashiness of canelo's shots they didnt stop GGG from being all over him outlanding him...power body shots that GGG was bracing himself for and thus was able to proceed to keep walking him down immediatly and landing clean jabs in return...thats just canelo having too much speed for his reflexes but they didnt allow Canelo to control the ring, or put any follow ups together...GGG was simply dictating the pace and landing more and he landed clean enough, not hard, just like canelo.....the way canelo explodes just makes you assume he was effective when the actual effect tells anyone unbiased that he wasn't...canelo is clearly not outclassed by ggg but his style is also not enough to really win rounds when he doesn't clearly hurt or discourage ggg, dude just cant deal with the pace if he doesn't buy himself brakes. and thuse gets too defensive and outlanded. I would even say GGG landed the only two punches that seemed to get to the legs of the opponent....a right cross and a right uppercut in the middle rounds. You're just giving aesthetically pleasing punches too much credit.

I had it 7-5 for GGG. I could even see it 8-4.
Golovkin pretty much controlled all of the middle rounds with his jab and also several of the later rounds.
Canelo fought in spurts after the first three rounds or so. Canelo throws some nice eye catching combinations that will always catch the audience's attention.
If you watch closely he only does it from time to time though. It's probably because he can't sustain it for most of the round, but we should have already known that from his previous fights.

I have to give Canelo a lot of respect. I don't think I have seen someone improve so much from the first time I watched him.
I first watched Canelo before he even made his USA debut and I honestly was not impressed at all. I was like, "why is this kid making so much noise? He's nothing special..." But little by little he has improved tremendously.

I just simply cannot give him enough credit for fighting in spots in several rounds.
I actually think Jacobs fought GGG better. I scored GGG-Jacobs 6-6 but could see it 7-5 either way.
For this one, I think GGG did more than enough to win. He was the ring general and his jab really did work for him.

There are still things GGG can do better in a rematch. Well, there are things both can do to do better in the rematch. I just feel as though GGG has probably learned more from this more so than Canelo IMO.
Canelo actually had a good game plan in theory. Throw fast combinations and push GGG back, he just wasn't able to do it enough though as he only did it in spots.
Canelo will probably try to make a few adjustments from this game plan, BUT I think GGG has more adjustments available.

All my points to anyone that can find a Golovkin clean punch with power on in round 1. He landed nothing but tap jabs, so did Canelo apart from a couple of power punches Canelo landed and a very nice body shot. Don't know how anyone could score round 1 to Golovkin. Somehow Lederman did.

                    Happy?

You've been fooled by HBO commentary and compubox. Find 1 decent punch from Golovkin in rd 1 cocksucker. I swear the majority of so called "fans" sit in front of the TV with their eyes closed.
