Close fight, I had Canelo winning 4 of the first 6 or at least an even split. 7,8,9 was GGG. All of the championship rounds, 10,11,12 I had Canelo winning. I seen an nonstop aggressor in GGG, out jabbing but missing his significant power shots, sometimes landing them but just not landing clean enough. GGG walked through Canelo's power shots but nonetheless Canelo's shots was more significant and more crisp. Therefore, I had Canelo wining a tough 7-5 win or a draw at the least. Great, competitive fight, and already looking forward to the rematch.Comment

It's also ridiculous to discover that the standards applied to two boxers are different. As if one boxer has to KO the other otherwise he doesn't deserve the win or isn't impressive. Whereas if the other boxer himself also doesn't get the knockout then somehow it is enough to warrant a win and is considered impressive, only because he himself didn't get knocked out.
GGG doesn't have to KO Canelo Alvarez, anymore than Canelo Alvarez has to KO GGG to win. Both are following the same rules. One doesn't have an extra rule that he has to follow (such as one has to get the KO to win whilst the other has the luxury of being warranted the win by decision). So why should it matter that GGG failed to KO Canelo when Canelo also couldn't KO Golovkin? Why should it be more impressive that Canelo survived and didn't get knocked out by GGG, when GGG himself also survived and didn't get knocked out by Canelo either?Comment

What about the 2 punches canelo threw that were below the belt? either way canelo never hurt GGG. But i know for a fact canelo got hurt at the ropes when he was inviting GGG to try something at him, and he got rocked with 2 hard shots and that was the end of canelo tying to tease GGG at the ropes with his defense down. This fight was a robbery and should have been unanimous decision 115-113 at the most. I have to say GGG wasn't himself the first few rounds, showed too much respect for canelo and slow to do anything. Not sure i want to see a rematch unless it's out of vegas and with both sides agreeing on the judges used. If there is a rematch i expect GGG to do alot more early in the fight, now that he knows he can take canelo's best and not by affected by it. GGG will win by KO in a rematch.Last edited by AhabSnake; 09-17-2017, 12:28 PM.Comment
