i had it 7-5 as well but whenever u have it 7-5 its not hard for one round to go the other way.I had it 7-5 for GGG. I could even see it 8-4.
Golovkin pretty much controlled all of the middle rounds with his jab and also several of the later rounds.
Canelo fought in spurts after the first three rounds or so. Canelo throws some nice eye catching combinations that will always catch the audience's attention.
If you watch closely he only does it from time to time though. It's probably because he can't sustain it for most of the round, but we should have already known that from his previous fights.
I have to give Canelo a lot of respect. I don't think I have seen someone improve so much from the first time I watched him.
I first watched Canelo before he even made his USA debut and I honestly was not impressed at all. I was like, "why is this kid making so much noise? He's nothing special..." But little by little he has improved tremendously.
I just simply cannot give him enough credit for fighting in spots in several rounds.
I actually think Jacobs fought GGG better. I scored GGG-Jacobs 6-6 but could see it 7-5 either way.
For this one, I think GGG did more than enough to win. He was the ring general and his jab really did work for him.
There are still things GGG can do better in a rematch. Well, there are things both can do to do better in the rematch. I just feel as though GGG has probably learned more from this more so than Canelo IMO.
Canelo actually had a good game plan in theory. Throw fast combinations and push GGG back, he just wasn't able to do it enough though as he only did it in spots.
Canelo will probably try to make a few adjustments from this game plan, BUT I think GGG has more adjustments available.Comment

Biased? That's funny coming from you with your unwarranted accusations with very vague details!
Atleast I give detailed reasons why I felt Canelo won by a point which is what it was a very close fight won by the guy who landed the more cleaner shots and landed to the body more!
So I guess coming forward, throwing more punches and not getting "as tired" wins fights now huh? Yeah, and you're sure are not showing any bias!
I see so many haters cuz the fight didn't go with what they expect!
How many folks expected Canelo to get knocked out?
How many expected to see Canelo get destroyed and or take a knee?
When it doesn't go your way you expect you have all you cry babies claiming robbery over a 1 bad scorecard which we can all attest to!
Even the judge who gave the fight to GGG had him winning by a round yet you have folks screaming robbery!
Embiciles need to go read the Queensbury rules and gentlemen's fisticuffs rules and scoring criterias like Byrd and Cj ross!Comment

The main criteria for judging any boxing bout over anything else is effective punches landed in total. How do we determine effective punches. By the punch which effects the opponent. So any punch that knocks an opponent out, down, stuns an opponent, causes visible damage or snaps / forces their head / body back are all effective punches. For the most part, GGG did better in this department than Canelo Alvarez. For the most part, GGG's punches were forcing Canelo Alvarez's head / body back more frequently than vice versa. Thus, GGG landed not only more punches in total, but also more effective punches.
Canelo Alvarez's short moments of a few clean punches doesn't change the fact that GGG landed more frequently, despite Canelo Alvarez's landed punches looking flashier (but not more effective).
So as long as that main criteria (who landed the more effective punches) is fulfilled, those other factors such as who made who miss more, who got more tired, or who countered more and etc. all become irrelevant.
So barring those irrelevant factors, GGG was the one who won the fight without a doubt.Comment

@ 10-2 Canelo
