calling people out for ignoring canelo's body shots while ignoring all of GGG's jabs.....you put the burden of hurting the other guy on GGG yet don't tell us how many times Canelo hurt GGG.....and you do realise the round by round basis of boxing means you have to actually be efffective round by round and not just in an overall sense right? Canelo simply relies on hurting his opponent with his explosive shots to win but to throw those explosive shots, he needs to preserve gas. Golovkin simply walked him and outlanded him and was more consistent while never getting hurt.He was landing all the cleanest shots that had ggg's head snapping back. Name a single time ggg hurt Canelo, just 1. He didn't, he couldn't, he was missing almost everything he threw and getting countered back. Center of the ring Canelo took it, body work Canelo massively outworked him.
Seriously, people keep making the same mistake of not counting body punches.Comment

Canelo's body work won him 5 rounds. Don't change the fact that I had G winning the other 7. Easily.ggg wasn't connecting enough, most of his punches were caught on Canelo's guard or flat out missed. Canelo was landing THE best punches round after round.
Coming forward doesn't win you the round if you're constantly getting countered, missing punches too. And Canelo absolutely mauled ggg's body, you don't count body punching?
I gave ggg 4 rounds, 5 max and that's being generous.
I gave G Rounds 1, 4-6, 8, 9 and 10. I gave Canelo 2, 3, 7, 11 and 12.
Of those, Rounds 4 and 9 were swing rounds, which is probably where you got the extra Canelo rounds. That's fine, but they were swing rounds, not clear domination like you describe.
It's clear that you flat out ignored when Canelo gassed by round 4 and proceeded to get tagged repeatedly. Much less the times he laid on the ropes, invited G in who was able to land punches. Not all, but enough.
You also must have ignored the rounds where Canelo barely threw anything - there were three of those. Gassed.
Or the uppercuts G started throwing back in the later rounds - round 8 onward. Ignored those, huh?Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 09-16-2017, 11:48 PM.Comment

Neither man hurt each other, but it was Canelo landing the best punches of the round. Think of how many rounds where you said "oh **** great shot by ggg", most of his work was okay but rarely anything big landing aside of a jab. Canelo out box him in the center and on the ropes, ggg's only consistent success was his jab, no body shots, very few actual clean shots to the head.Comment
