I think the main reason he didn't fight Ward is simply because he never finished or accomplished what he wanted to do at 160lbs. He didn't fight anyone so far at 168lbs. I know you have wet dreams about Golovkin "ducking" Ward but anyone who isn't a nuthugger or hater looks at the situation and says the stars didn't align right for these two to possibly have a fight.
