So, youre saying if GGG wanted the fight, he wouldn't have tried to fight on the Canelo card? Because my thought is that was a big time wasted opportunity for Ward. 900k paid for that fight and could have seen Ward toy with that white boy. It could have been good exposure for a guy fighting in half empty arenas.

But that's all I wanted to talk about with ward and GGG. I'll let everyone else argue about who ducked and who sent what offer when.

Sure let's make it fun. But I'd like to hear your reasoning behind picking canelo?

he lands more jabs per round per compu box than any other fighter in the sport. now, is he ray leonard? no. but he's fine in teh center of the ring. jacobs isn't a bad fighter. he's huge at MW, athletic, decent punch, decent boxer. he's just easy to hit and hurt and golovkin didn't put him away that rubs people the wrong way. but he also fought golovkin in a manner that he's never fought anybody, so he wasn't all that easy to hit.

golovkin controlled that fight with his jab, the way he does with most fights. if the power on the ropes lands you'll get hurt and go down. if it doesn't you'll still lose the rounds unless you can come up with something to offeset the points he scores with the jab.

I really don't know that detail of course, all I really know is the lemieux fight was in place, RN's contract suggested each fighter would have 1 fight before meeting. He wound up not fighting on the undercard anyway though...km not sure that kind of thing matters to ward tbh man. Like any other fighter, he could run his mouth like some others and try to sell more. I like that Ward doesn't sell out to sell fights, though it would benefit him financially a lot more if he did.

Golivkin himself said there's only 3 punches...is he going to win with a jab, hook, and uppercut? That's the mentality of a limited fighter.
Well...I'm not all that sure Canelo is more intelligent; at least Lemieux speaks 2 languages! But I will give you this: he is a better boxer.
As for winning with just a jab, hook and uppercut; maybe not. He'll probably have to throw a few right hands too!

                  Monroe Jr is dreaming

Monroe Jr should watch Golovkin vs Kassim Ouma and watch Golovkin fight from the inside the entire 12 rounds, a REAL give-and-take! Golovkin also showed he can take a punch and still move forward.

GGG is a much better inside fighter than canelo who has no inside game at all. He needs space to throw his counters where ggg has short uppercuts he lands on the inside.

like we saw with Brook/Jacobs, Golovkin does not have great defense and is vulnerable to combinations/uppercuts

he is also gonna get lots of that nasty bodywork

and he is going to miss a LOT of punches

hmmm..... then factor in those 36yo legs

the fat red kid is gonna lite that boy up like a christmas tree

Canelo UD12 in a real tough/close and possibly controversial fight
