I see too many boxing fans here having a hard time accepting the fact that boxing is a sport and not necessarily a fight.

Listen I love boxing, I do not watch MMA (odd fights I do) but the fact remains that if it comes down to two men FIGHTING for life boxing of all POPULAR combat sports in isolation is the least effective way to come out a winner. Why do boxing fans continue to argue against that?

Boxing combined with other martial arts is a different story, and this is why most militaries of the world in their teachings of hand to hand combat always teach elements of western boxing along with wrestling and other techniques.

Don't try to defend blindly boxing and respect both sports.

      Any fighting sport deserve respect.

You call him McTapout, but MMA is different, the ref stop the fight when the man is unconscious on the floor.

Toney, who never got stopped in boxing tapped out in MMA.
That why you shouldn't jump in other people conversation. He called me a moron in his first post so that was my respnse.

It's funny how people ignore Mayweather's age, inactivity, and the fact that he's not a big puncher above 135.

LOL. Yes. I believe that there is a video out there showing the king of the 4 rounders knocking someone out with 4 ounce gloves on. I highly doubt that his opponent was elite level opposition, but good ol ButterBean won MMA fights and he is a boxer first.

I really am sick of MMA fanboys ****ting on boxing though. Being 25 years old, my demographic and peers have primarily been UFC fans since my high school days. I've heard everything from, "people still watch boxing?" "I can't believe boxing still a sport." "Boxings going to disappear after Mayweather because they don't have any other stars." "Boxings so boring."

It amuses me that so many of them were riding super hard on McGregor beating Floyd. As much of an exhibition, sideshow, sparring session as it was, it was fun seeing McGregor get stopped.

They say that boxings dying, but I've seen more and more people getting into it recently the last couple of years. I told my one friend boxing on the come up and we've had good, compelling fights this year. He doesn't believe me, but he'll eat his words.
