lol @ silly boxing fans using Holm defeating Rousey as their eternal example of boxing > MMA. That was one fight between two women, one that may even turn out different if they ever fought again. Plus, Holm has a kickboxing background and actually took the time to train MMA in full before pursuing it as a actual career. She didn't just jump in with Rousey (ala Conor with Floyd) and knock her out. And following Ronda's defeat, Holm got outboxed by non-boxers like Valentina and Germaine, so STFU.

The funniest thing about Holm's boxing career is no one gave a f#ck about it while she was boxing & she gets more attention & respect now FROM boxing people/boxing media than when she was an active boxer lmfao.

Yea Holms lost her other fights I still don't think that takes away from the fact that a boxer won in MMA.
I agree on Holm, she is a successful transplant, I just don't view her as an MMA great. And as for how an MMA fighter fairs against a Boxer under MMA rules, I think its very different depending on the fighter, a competent Muay-Thai practitioner for example may do very well against a Boxer.

"Guys coming from boxing -- stay there - unless you learn how to wrestle real well," Liddell told TMZ Sports.
Chuck is right. Without take down defense and wrestling a boxer is severely limited in the cage.

Sure , JJ is a level above the rest , but even he failed at football (his brothers are NFL players if I'm not mistaken) , and because he is above the rest talent wise he is GOAT by a mile there, he is an example that when you have someone talented in a field of plumbers it looks too easy.

And Bisping says its relatively easy to learn take down defense ands that 90% of the modern game is stand up.

It all boils down to the athlete, the idea that neither a boxer or MMA guy trying the other sport has no chance at all is BS . I would bet a lot of money guys like Lomo Spence Thurman etc can be very dangerous guys in any form of combat with training, especially as 95% of guys a stopped by stand up exchanges.

Its the same dumb idea that Connor should not have been able to land a punch, Ive seen guys come of the street and land punches on top pros, they not going to win but its not the untouchable gap people try and make out.
