I'm bet A level fighters like Crawford, Spence, Thurman have a great chance against ufc champions and i would't be surprised if they win by first round KO.Boxers are very dangerous by any standarts.

Why are MMA guys so ignorant
James Toney was 122 years old and hadn't seen the top 10 of any weight class in years leading up to his fight with Couture. Why do they never mention Ray Mercer knocking out Tim in 8 seconds?
I know an English boxer that Danny Williams beat with one hand that went to MMA and was KOing guys unconscious
Chuck was a boxer FCOL. Sure he had a wrestling background, but he was no Mark Coleman, Dan Severn or Mark Kerr. Chuck won his fights boxing. A very low level method of boxing but he won and reigned supreme utilizing it
Same for Rampage. Rampage was a boxer with a wrestling background, but never used it
JDS and Stipe are both boxers.
The above guys are boxers with good take down defense. The above guys are D class boxers
Take someone like Kimbo Slice for example. He was a lower class boxer, but no MMA guy would stand with him for long periods of time. Not even Roy Nelson who was a guy that liked to stand and ****.
The formula is simple. If you're a D class boxer with B class take down defense, you'll have a hell of an MMA career

shes a pro boxer by definition and a successful one.. but the competition level is extremely low. Theyve only been in the olympics for two years. Its not the same as a male boxer with 30+ fights.Comment

We gone keep claiming holly for boxing because she's one of us even if she don't want to be lol. But realistically she's a semi-kick boxer too. She out boxed Rousey but the kicks is what did it. Holms wasn't a big puncher in boxing anyway. She had less than 10 KOs, but Mathis had almost 30 KOs
Holmes vs Anne Sophie Mathis I
She outboxed her in the rematch tho.Comment

Don't know why chuck acting like he's nothing more than a limited puncher anyway. He needs to come in the ring and fight Joshua.Comment

Mayweather in his prime would get destroyed by any top contender under MMA rules.Comment

Cong**** on revealing you're a complete douchebag. People do what they must to survive their environments, who the fhuck made you the moral hall monitor. Making assumptions that you know who some one is based on one aspect of their life. Your dumb assh statement says more about you than me admitting to being in a lot of street fights would ever say about me.Comment

Easily, everyone should admit that in each individual combat sport, the pugilist from that specific sport would have a greater chance of winning. But if we break it down we would find that it is definitely much harder for an MMA fighter to transition to boxing and actually win a fight. Chuck's assessment is flawed just like many fans are, because they think boxing is all about punching. They think you hit a heavy bag, do some mits and boom now you can box. A boxer moving to MMA will always have a punchers chance to begin with. But for the most part, all a boxer would need to learn is take down defense, along with some body/weight manipulation (which are some of the concepts they already learn from clinching) . Boxers are already trained in understanding distance, movement, and angles. Boxers are in better physical condition as well. I don't think take downs are the biggest concern for a boxer, I believe if I were training a boxer to fight in MMA, it would be kicks, not just any kick, specifically kicks to the legs. Most boxers legs (with the exception of a few, like Pac) are pretty narrow like long distance runners. Boxers legs are not trained to take strikes, and that is not something you can train in 8 weeks. If I were training an MMA fighter against a boxer, I would tell him to focus on leg kicks.
For an MMA fighter to transition to boxing, you will have to work on a number of things. Starting with conditioning, balance, foot positioning, proper defense for both head and body punches, proper way to throw a punch, turning over your punch, shifting weight into the punch for power, larger gloves, a lot more rules. For an MMA fighter conditioning, punch resistance, and body would be key. If an MMA fighter were to fight a power puncher, or a body puncher, that fight would be over fairly quick. A non puncher would just walk the MMA fighter down until hes too tired to stand (Mayweather/Mcgregor). MMA fighters are generally a lot more bulky, with larger muscle than their counter parts in boxing, they don't generally train for body shots or head shots, and through out their career, they don't take too many punches to the head and body like boxers do from the amateurs on up. If I were training a boxer against an MMA fighter, I would tell him, rip the body all day. Even a boxer who's not known for power punches. Like another poster said earlier, it's much easier to block a take down than it is to block a punch.Comment
