Rating the heavyweights from 2-5 is difficult for me.

I feel that Holmes was smart enough, took a good enough punch, and had the offensive tools to dismantle Foreman after surviving the rough first half of the fight.

In a 15 round affair, if Foreman doesn't get him out of there before 7/8, he'd be picked apart by Holmes' jackhammer jab.

If Holmes could get up from that right hand by Shavers, which looked more devastating than anything I've ever seen Foreman throw, he would not be at much of a risk of losing by a knockout to Foreman.

Holmes had the better jab, footwork, and ring smarts as well as an even stronger chin than Foreman IMO. I would favor Holmes in this fight for sure.

That was only one shot by Shavers though, it was huge of course, but not a sustained beating. nevertheless i would favour Holmes too. Foreman was beaten by good boxers, and they didn't come much better than a prime Holmes.

Larry holmes is top 10, maybe 6th or 7th in my list of heavys.

                1. Ali
                2. Louis
                3. Foreman
                4. Holmes
                5. Lewis

I still can't see why Foreman rates so highly in some peopes lists, yeah he was one of the greatest punchers, but the guy couldn't beat a smart well schooled boxer, i think to be rated so highly you need to have very few flaws, and Foreman had some big flaws.

he was good but he was a very defensive fighter, and not in an ali way, thats why the masses think of him as boring and so dont pay him much attention
