I am not mad at him, just not going to ignore what he did helped him, probably a lot.

I bet you it has something to do with GGG seemingly trying to bulk up before camp. They had trained to take weight off in 2015 in case Floyd ever took that fight. Now they do not need to and after that Jacobs fight, it makes sense to close that gap.

People want to pretend the extra weight doesnt matter, but they then ignore the long history of fighters with rehydration clauses.

Sorry that RTARD don't know SHT! IMO this is CHEATING!!! You used a loophole to try and win! While the other guy was trying to play by the RULES!!!!
And don't forget that the official weigh in was early in the morning due to Michael Conlan fight scheduled later that day (the smaller MSG hall). Usually weigh ins are done closer to lunch time. This meant Jacobs had way too much fcking time (+3 hours) to rehydrate without worrying about IBF fight night weigh in.

If you are 185 pounds it is gonna help you at 160 to take shots from guys 170.

The weigh in the day before can sap some energy, but it matters how much you put on. It mattes how long you have to rehydrate.

Anyone who says otherwise doesnt have a clue what they are talking bout or has an agenda. aboutfkntime has both.
I don't have the IBF number. Sorry sir.

          what middleweight gains 25lbs ?

don't be ridiculous, stop telling stories

and the PED thing is an entirely different matter, why would you even mention that?..... they either have adequate testing, or they do not

and..... you are a pacfan, so shouldn't you shut up about drug testing?

I did not even comment on the IBF weighin rule

when I said that this rehydration-weight nonsense needs to stop, I was referring to silly fans.....

like the posters who called Jacobs a cheat for missing the IBF weighin..... a weighin that none of the other 3 sanctioning bodies support, for a title he elected not to represent

and like the posters who think that a guy who can make weight and then go 12 hard rounds, is a cheat..... just because he rehydrates a little more than the other guy

the IBF weighin, not a big deal..... I don't think it is necessary, but I don't think it is a big problem either

btw, lil small tiny middleweight Golovkin weighed in 169.6lbs at the official 9am IBF second-day weigh-in, which meant that he only barely made the stipulated 10lbs limit

it is ****** to call Charlo Canelo Lemieux cheats, just because they happen to be a little bigger, therefore have to work a little harder, and therefore possibly rehydrate a little more..... than the other guy

          whoop de doo

the same rules apply to everyone.... they may not 100% benefit everyone, because some guys will be smaller than others..... but you are either good/big enough to compete in that division or you are not

and if some guy is killing himself to make weight, are you good enough to drag them into deep water and take advantage of that, or not ?

it was kinda funny when fans of a guy who can fight at 168, and who spars light-heavy's, and who can supposedly beat Andre Ward..... started crying about a couple of pounds of rehydration weight on Danny boogieman Jacobs

rehydration clause are almost always the result of a catchweight

a rehydration clause is a lame attempt to fix a lame catchweight

in a fight that has no divisional relevance

in a divisional matchup where both guys make weight, who cares about rehydration weight?

one guy will almost certainly be slightly heavier on fight night then the other guy..... whoop-de-doo?

the 5-6 lbs weighin difference that is acceptable within most divisions is far more relevant than a couple of lbs of water-weight

            oi.....

Mr "People want to pretend the extra weight doesnt matter"..... why was your boy too chicken to negotiate on weight with lil old 153lb Cotto?

If anything, I would like to see all the other alphabet organizations follow the IBF rule, instead of the IBF changing their standard for unification bouts!

This is fantastic news for GGG and terrible news for Canelo, who I am convinced was going to skip the 2nd weigh in. It means GGG can rehydrate properly, straight away.

The rule was changed due to GGG vs Jacobs fight. If GGG had known that Jacobs was not interested in IBF title, then GGG probably wouldn't do IBF title defence. It was unfair that Jacobs didn't come to the 2nd day weigh in.

At least if GGG knew he wasn't going to the same day weight he could of started hydrating back up.
That's why I think the ibf did away with it with unifications. If one guy doesn't care about the IBF title and the other does it creates an unfair advantage.
