      The IBF Should just stop the 2nd weigh in. its unnecessary because no matter what the two boxers will not be the same weight as they walk into the ring.

        So what does this mean for G vs Canelo?

          It's an inevitable path, but I did think in principle it was a noble attempt at trying to keep boxers within 10 pounds of the contracted weight.
          Not all boxers drain ridiculously for fights, Golovkin being an example. By far the worst example of allowing 24 hours to rehydrate was Gatti v Gamache, as most boxing fans would know.
          What puzzles me is that the conditions for the IBO belt always get left out.

            Great news. Fighters should be able to fully rehydrate after weigh ins.

              But why are you mad at jacobs. Its the ibf rule. **** the wba was the reason they were fighting. **** ggg could have dropped his belt and said Fck it. So again what did he do that was NOT within the rules.

                  honestly, this rehydration weight nonsense needs to stop

                  FACT: if you can make 160, and go 12 hard rounds..... then you are a middleweight

                  some may have to work harder than others, so what

                  if a fighter drains himself to make weight, he will get found out

                  especially at the top level

                  until he moved up to 160, Charlo was a JMW

                  until he moves up to 168, Lemieux is a MW

                  who cares what those guys rehydrate to ?

                  the total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weighin, NOT 1 day later..... excess water-weight, or rehydration weight, can even be detrimental

                  in every division, some fighters will be slightly bigger than others, so fkn what?..... there used to be only 8 divisions, and a much higher weight disparity in many matchups

                  it is impossible to have every matchup happen between fighters who are identical in weight

                  we have 17 divisions today, and again..... some fighters are slightly bigger than others, so what?

                  waaaaah, small doe

                  hmmm.....

                  in boxing, what is more over-rated.....
                  * rehydration-weight
                  * " P4P "
                  * powah

                  I will need to have a think about that
                  I concur sir.

                    Damn, IBF Must be GGG Fanboy

                    Oh, I mean the IBF must realize if Canelo is ever to be their champ, they will need to stop with the strict weight because that boy never follows weights.

                    Honestly, we have weight classes so people to not get hurt, unless they choose to take that risk. It was obvious Jacobs blew up in Camp, he looked like a damn body builder.

                    He hid his weight for a reason, and because he put a **** load on. And it still did not win having every physical advantage.

                      That is utter nonsense, especially in the days of PED use. Guys can use all kinds of things to make sure they do not lose muscle cutting to make weight and then blow up. That extra weight makes a huge difference, or they would not do it, its too hard on the body.

                      If you are 185 pounds it is gonna help you at 160 to take shots from guys 170.

                      The weigh in the day before can sap some energy, but it matters how much you put on. It mattes how long you have to rehydrate.

                      Anyone who says otherwise doesnt have a clue what they are talking bout or has an agenda. aboutfkntime has both.
