    Correct, but that's to keep fighters in check for the initial weigh-in, so they don't "starve" themselves the same day of the fight to make the contracted weight. Thus, it was moved to the day before.
    Problem is, very few fighters fight correctly in their weight class. Many weight bullies out there.
    With the next day, you don't have to make the initial contracted weight, but have to be (either within 10 pound above or 10% heavier) I forget which it is. But you do hydrate, you just can't hydrate too much.

      No day of weigh ins stopped because fights were being called off
      if fighters couldnt make weight. This was for money reasons not health reasons. If a fighter didnt make weight on the day of, the entire show would be cancelled and promoters were stuck with the liability.

        So of all the fights in history since the grey-theory Lineal Belt was "created", this is the fight that will ensure Orgs recognize it's alleged existence?

        GTFO.

          I don't see how you can call them bullies if most fighters are doing it. And cutting too much weight just to fight in a smaller weight class is taxing on the fighter's body who attempts such feats. So it balances out. In my opinion limiting how much weight a fighter can gain in 36 hours is wrong and dangerous. I think its a lot more dangerous for sanctioning bodies to tamper with the fighters physiology than for one guy to weigh more than the other. Heavy weight fights would never get sanctioned if it that rule extended to them.

            This! That was a BEYOND BI@TCH move!!! Having 1 guy doing everything right and making sure they make weight while that OTHER POS started hydrating like 24 hours earlier...Not hard to figure this sht out!

            IMO this is CHEATING!!! You used a loophole to try and win! While the other guy was trying to play by the RULES!!!!

                fighters are not cutting weight to be " weight bullies "

                they are cutting weight to operate on a level playing field

                honestly, this rehydration weight nonsense needs to stop

                FACT: if you can make 160, and go 12 hard rounds..... then you are a middleweight

                some may have to work harder than others, so what

                if a fighter drains himself to make weight, he will get found out

                especially at the top level

                until he moved up to 160, Charlo was a JMW

                until he moves up to 168, Lemieux is a MW

                who cares what those guys rehydrate to ?

                the total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weighin, NOT 1 day later..... excess water-weight, or rehydration weight, can even be detrimental

                in every division, some fighters will be slightly bigger than others, so fkn what?..... there used to be only 8 divisions, and a much higher weight disparity in many matchups

                it is impossible to have every matchup happen between fighters who are identical in weight

                we have 17 divisions today, and again..... some fighters are slightly bigger than others, so what?

                waaaaah, small doe

                hmmm.....

                in boxing, what is more over-rated.....
                * rehydration-weight
                * " P4P "
                * powah

                I will need to have a think about that
