That was ***ED up what he did. One boxer was doing everything right to make weight and watching everything they did and eat while the other one was at the All-You-Can Eat Buffet.

At least if GGG knew he wasn't going to the same day weight he could of started hydrating back up.

If anything, the IBF should have something in place where the challenger must agree the day before if he will be weighing in.
Failure to agree makes the IBF belt ineligible to the challenger, and remains with the champion.

In addition, if the challenger refuses the day before to adhere to the same day weigh-in, the champion is able to then forego that weigh-in by default. Otherwise, both must adhere. This way, the champ isn't cheated out of hydration at the very last minute.

Then again, all bets are off if the Ring Belt is considered for the unification, which it may very well be in this case.
IBF will "conveniently" start recognizing lineal from now on - starting with THIS fight.

        So let's review...

Industry wrote that what Jacobs did was unfair.. wasn't that Idec? Forgot who...

So now, assuming Gennady will have trouble considering his latest pics or earlier months physique maybe there is a skeptical toll underway...

Maybe K2 tired to push this off as to not risk another Jacobs venture...

        Or

The IBF is a bit worried that GBP might be gangster like Jacobs, but they sure as hell want Nelo's name and exposure, so waving it off, Nelo guarantees to fight for it...

If Golovkin knew Jacobs wasn't doing it he still would have had to, that was the rules for being IBF champion. Jacobs had no obligation to do the weigh-in he was challenging for the WBA title, as the IBF champ Golovkin did or he'd be stripped.

Same situation with Canelo, if Canelo chooses not to do it Golovkin will still have to or lose the IBF title.

We all know this, captain obvious. What he's saying is that it was a ***** move by Jacobs to do that at last minute, when it could have been negotiated with the IBF and maybe Golovkin wouldn't have had to do the second weigh in if they knew all along that Jacobs wasn't interested in the IBF belt.

Every IBF sanctioned fight the champion must do the 2nd day weigh-in (now that's changed for unification fights). If the IBF champ competes in an unsanctioned fight he is stripped. He HAD to do the 2nd day weigh-in, no choice.

A second day weigh in is the same thing as rehydration clause isn't it? Why is it that the IBF is the only sanctioning body that requires this? Weren't same day weigh ins banned to protect the fighter's health?
